So another possibility, after some thought, is iron deficiency. GI issues can screw up iron absorption, as can phytic acid (in grains and beans and nuts) and tannins (in tea). Iron's a nasty thing to have too much of, so I've avoided it in multivitamins. Plus I've always passed the iron-sufficiency test during blood donation. It's not well absorbed from veggies, though. And until a few years ago I had a steady diet of iron-fortified cereals.
Well, I haven't actually gotten that much cleaning done :/
When the sun came out, laundry and tending to Growing Things trumped picking up, dusting, and vacuuming, except for the kitchen floor which is decidedly less littered with recycling containers and worm corpses that came in out of the rain to meet an untimely demise on the faux granite (ew).
And then there was walking around the park which turned into the mall when the wind was too cold, muttering my poster presentation under my breath. People probably think I'm crazy.
But I got some boat shoes at wal-mart for $2 that will be perfect to mow the lawn in, and 2 winter shirts at Sears for $1 each that I may or may not wear but for a dollar it's worth the risk.
Lab gossip! Apparently the other evil faculty in our department (well, turns out there are several, but a few are/were especially bad to work for) has a buddy MD/PhD who is just as crazy. This other guy threw tubes of formalin at his new tech, who left after a week. Not only is he emotionally abusive to his underlings, he's physically abusive, with temper tantrums. Crazy has no bounds in academia, folks...
