Luke was putting the last of his belongings into bags and boxes and trying not to be too upset about leaving Fandom forever tomorrow morning

It was a big cabin, and easy to miss seeing any of the other graduates, but Anders just happened to have wandered the wrong way through the living room today. Packing was a little hard to miss, though, especially with an astromech vendor whistling outside an alcove, so he stopped outside.

"You can't leave," he announced with the futilely stubborn look he'd honed over the past couple of years of saying goodbye to people. "What if we need to break into another high-security building?"

"I'm sure you'll find someone," Luke said, eyes shining. "That was more fun than I was supposed to have breaking and entering, I think."

"I think that's more fun than anyone's supposed to admit to having for that kind of thing," Anders agreed. "And I haven't forgotten how much you helped out when Bridge and Z got kidnapped, too, which I don't know if I ever really thanked you for."

Luke smiled. "Thanks isn't necessary," he said quietly. "It's what anyone would do if they were asked."

"Well, I still appreciate that you did," Anders replied. "So . . . what's next for you? Heading for home?"

"Yes," Luke said, nodding. "I'm helping restart a government and an old religion."

Even for Fandom, that was pretty strange.

". . . wow." Anders needed a few moments to process before he even managed that much of a reaction because yeah, pretty strange. "And here I thought going to college was going to be scary."

Luke grinned. "My sister's been at it for a year," he said. "I've been slacking off by being here, really."

"But it was fun while it lasted, huh?" Anders glanced over at Artoo and chuckled. "I see he plans to make sure that doesn't get forgotten."

"I have a feeling he's trying to be the first droid with a million credits in the bank," Luke said with a grin.

Artoo tootled happily.

"Maybe I should help him out with that. It's a good cause." Anders dug into his pocket, trying to sort out old crumpled J,GoB receipts from equally crumpled bills. "So's what you're gonna be doing. Good luck with that -- you're gonna be a Fandom grad we can brag about."

Artoo held up a disk of Fandom's Greatest Hits towards Anders as Luke's cheeks went pink.

"I'm sure we'll all be doing great things," he said. "I'll be confusing the hell out of my friends at home when I tell them about this place, but it'll be worth it."
