The door to his room was open and Luke was lying on his stomach typing out a quick transmission to Leia. He wasn't exactly sure what planet they had ended up on after fleeing Yavin, but he was sure the message would get to her somehow.
Besides, she'd told him to keep in touch and he'd never break a promise to her.
Leia--
Are you missing a Sith Lord??!!!!?!!?! Because he's here. He tried to kill me--well, sort of, I didn't exactly stick around to see what his fiendish plan was--and now he's at this school teaching--get this--Ethics.
Seriously.
It almost makes the news that my father went to this school up until two days before I arrived sound normal. I even met his old girlfriend. Her
name's Rory and
she's pretty fantastic. She's in Vader's class and was less than pleased to find out that he had killed Anakin.
I mean, who wouldn't be?
The good news after I broke the really, really bad news to all of
Anakin's friends is that a lot of them are willing to
help me learn what it means to be a Jedi. Plus there's a
shooting range and a
Flight Club (started by my father and continued by a girl named Aeryn who is also pretty amazing). I haven't gotten to fly in weeks and I miss it. I did go check on the X-Wing, though, and brought a new friend named
Lyra to see it. And before you ask, no, not all of my friends at school are women.
Speaking of flying, please tell Han and Wedge that I say hello. And can you ask Han if he ever went here? I've heard rumors, and...well, I hope it's a different Han. Alternate versions of people aren't uncommon here. I've met three sets of people who look alike and aren't related. Or clones. Weird, huh?
Classes are kind of strange, too. I had to
ask a girl out in one (I can hear you laughing from here. Stop that.), build a
mouse trap in another, and try not to fall asleep in the final two. You'd be way better at the
Interstellar Relationsthan I am and
Astronomy is more about the planets of this solar system and less about astronavigation. But I'm sure it'll all come in handy at some point, right?
Hope everything's going all right with you, wherever in the galaxy you might be.
--Luke.
He hit send on the transmission, then rolled onto his back and stared at the ceiling. Was he supposed to be going to Caritas tonight?
