"Milk would be good," he said with a shaky smile. "My nightmare was bad, but my father's...." he shook his head as he walked into the room, "it woke me up."
"This is good," Luke said gratefully. "I just felt like I was the only person in the universe, except for my father, and he was more scared than I was."
She nudged Vladdie out of the way, and staggered sleepily to the door.
"...Luke?" she asked, blinking a little. "Everything okay?"

"I had a nightmare," he said, "but I'm not seven. I don't even know what I doing here."
