So close and yet so far... dude broke the screwdriver off in the ignition and then tried to power turn it with a wrench. Stoopid didn't realize that once you break past the steering lock, there is a little spring loaded button that keeps the cylinder in place.
So after I called the police, and they told me there was nothing they could do, i popped the cylinder and started the car with a screwdriver.
Missing this small detail yet still targetting chrysler cars (they were succesful on another C car from the same lot) tells me that they likely got teh info from the Intrapipes.
Whatever...
I think I'll leave a note in the car tomorrow
"Screwdriver located under seat..."
At least that way I might be able to get some comp when they drive away in my ride and wrap it around a post...
