I hear you - loud and clear. Advertised jobs here in Goulburn are rare and usually not things I even want to contemplate doing day in and day out. I went to a 'group' interview for Michael Hill's new store the other day. What a day. It actually snowed, then in the ensuing rain, I turned up at the local RSL where 55 people were applying for 7 positions. We had to stand up and introduce ourselves to the rest of the room (yikes), then form groups and 'sell' the item they allocated. My table got a lounge suite
( ... )
well that just seems like a lot of bollocks to sell jewellery.... sounds like a positively awful experience too.. *hugs* It would appear that experience doesn't seem to play a part these days...
We have a major snail problem. Seriously, I lost count at fifty one day, when I was wandering around our teeny tiny back yard and pulling snails off the fence to drown them.
There are lots of things you can use to control snails, but I have chemo-phobia, and a dog, so snail baits are out for me. The beer thing didn't seem to be working, so I've gone back to the most basic of pest control methods. Picking them up, one at a time, and dropping them in a bucket of soapy water.
It works really well, but you have to do it at the right time of day, and I've also gotten rid of the things in the garden that they would hide under or in during the day.
In a way, it's oddly soothing, as it appeals to my OCD, and I can see an instant result. Although, it is icky, and I make the house-mate handle the slugs.
Hey, doing well handling the snails :). We'd be suspecting you were an alien sent to fool us if you tried to convince us you were handling the slugs :P
snail bait is nasty stuff, so i don't blame you. Maybe you need a duck! They are really good at getting rid of snails and give you eggs, although tend to poop everywhere.
