*Our four companions are walking behind abandoned buildings outside the city lines as they head for the forest*
Kass: Ryyyooo!!! I’m hungry!!! *pouts as she drags herself along behind the rest of the group*
Ryo: Then you should have brought extra food.
Kass: ;_; You’re so mean!!!
Ryo: No I’m not. *he turns his head to look at her as he walks on the other side of Mirai* It’s just a fact Kass. We’re not stopping at any more stores or restaurants. We’re going to be eating wilderness food… *turns back to the path they’re creating and keeps quiet*
Kass: But…!
Shawken: Kass… just drop it! You’re just going to have to wait until we hunt something down for food.
Kass: That’s disgusting!
Mirai: *stops and in the blink of an eye is standing right in front of Kass* Then you shouldn’t have come. Turn around and go home Kassandra.

Ryo: *looks at it* It looks possessed by something.
Mirai: It’s a forest guardian… a demon form of rabies possesses it. Never pretty, so if I were you three I’d get behind me.
*the three move behind her as she crouches in a fighting stance and is ready to pounce*
Wolf: *looks at the group and sees Mirai in front and he lets out a horrible howl*
Shawken: He’s going to attack from the left…
Mirai: Thanks *she charges at the wolf as it tries to make it’s attack and she knocks it to the ground*
Wolf: *rolls on to its feet and lunges at her with his teeth bared*
Mirai: *growls in return as she leaps over him*
Wolf: *snaps at her*
Mirai: *kicks it in the mouth and it whimpers. She winces as she looks at her arm which now has a bite mark that is bleeding* Damn it.
Wolf: *uses its paw to softly rub its nose and then growls at Mirai*
Mirai: *her wings being to stretch and she hold her arms open. She begins to float off the ground and she clenches her right hand into a fist*
Wolf: *watches her and glances at the three potential dinners*
Mirai: Don’t look at them. *when she opens her right hand a sword shoots out of her arm covered in blood* … You should be more interested in your death rather then your meal.
Wolf: *looks at her and breaks into a sprint at the unprotected group*
Shawken, Ryo, & Kass: O_O!!!
Wolf: *opens its mouth and drools from the anticipation for dinner but suddenly his head is ripped in half and his black blood spills all over the grass*
Kass: O_O *turns from the dead wolf and buries her face in Ryo’s chest*
Ryo: Shawken, you might not want to watch this…
Shawken: *stares in awe as Mirai flies down to the wolf and chops it into pieces* …What is she doing?
Ryo: Looking for the heart…
Shawken: O_O *looks at Ryo: …the heart?
Ryo: o_o *looks at Shawken and then to Mirai who has turned her back to them and he can hear her devouring the heart*
Mirai: *slowly turns to face them and wipes the blood from her mouth* …Who’s next?

Ryo: It’s over now Mirai. You won the battle! Just take my hand and we can continue on our journey. *takes a few steps toward her*

Mirai: I can devour you right here and now.

Ryo: *looks at her* You can’t, I’m not a demon.
Mirai: *laughs and her laugh sends shivers down Shawken’s spine* Just cause you’re not a demon doesn’t mean I can’t eat you. It just means that your heart will be worthless.

Kass & Shawken: *looks at each other, Ryo and then Mirai*

Shawken: What just happened?
*Nightfall*
Mirai: “It just means that your heart will be worthless!” *shoots up with a gasp. She holds her head, which begins to throb as she looks around at the others*
Shawken: *sitting at a fire*
Kass: *asleep next to Shawken by the fire*
Ryo: *sitting up against the same tree*
Mirai: Ryo… I didn’t mean it… It was my demon half… it's always that way. *sits in silence*
Shawken: *looks up at Mirai* Awake, eh?
Mirai: *looks at him* “He’s going to attack from the left…” You knew where the wolf was going to attack me.

Mirai: *looks at the fire* …The only mind readers I’ve ever known were demons. So unless you have demon blood in you, I don’t see how you can read minds. But it certainly sounds like you can. *looks at him*
Shawken: *laughs nervously* Wouldn’t that be something… I’ve never felt normal, ya know? Always felt like an outsider. I’ve felt more comfortable here, in the wilderness, than I have in my own house.
Mirai: Hmm… Your mother was human, yes?
Shawken: *looks at her* Yeah. Don’t ask about my father, cause I don’t know. I never met my father. Mom said he died in some freak accident.
Mirai: Hmm… The only way to be sure… is to taste his blood. But if I do that, then I’ll go after him when I’m in my demon form. I can’t take that risk.

Mirai: *sighs* A healer is someone who is born with a guardian angel watching over them. They think the angel is an imaginary friend, but the angel teaches the child how to heal itself using herbs and other techniques so that when the child grows up, it won’t need protection. But… unless somebody told an angel to watch over Kassandra, I don’t see any proof behind that theory.
Shawken: …Both her parents are alive. Maybe a grandparent?
Mirai: A grandparent could do it. Grandparents usually end up being the child’s guardian angel if the child never gets to meet its grandparents. Mostly because grandparents are pretty greedy when it comes to knowing their family.

Mirai: *smiles* Aww did I strike a nerve? *laughs again*
Ryo: *puts his hand on her hand and she pulls her hand back as if she had just been shocked* That’s enough Mirai. *walks to her and grabs her hand*
Mirai: O_O *lets out a scream of pain as blue light pulses from his hand to hers and her wings retract into her back*
Ryo: *lets go and walks away from the group to lean against a tree*
Mirai: *is out cold*
Kass & Shawken: *looks at each other, Ryo and then Mirai*
Kass: *looks at Ryo*
Shawken: What just happened?
*Nightfall*
Mirai: “It just means that your heart will be worthless!” *shoots up with a gasp. She holds her head, which begins to throb as she looks around at the others*
Shawken: *sitting at a fire*
Kass: *asleep next to Shawken by the fire*
Ryo: *sitting up against the same tree*
Mirai: Ryo… I didn’t mean it… It was my demon half… it's always that way. *sits in silence*
Shawken: *looks up at Mirai* Awake, eh?
Mirai: *looks at him* “He’s going to attack from the left…” You knew where the wolf was going to attack me.
Shawken: *looks back into the fire* …Yeah.
Mirai: How is that possible? *looks at Kass* “I…feel a heartbeat.” And she… she could sense where the wolf was hiding.
Shawken: *looks back at Mirai* Yeah. We don’t get it either. Maybe you could shed some light on this situation…?
Mirai: *gets up slowly and sits next to him*
Shawken: I…I think I can read minds.
Mirai: *looks at him* Oh?
Shawken: *looks at her* I heard what Kass was saying about Ryo and I repeated it but Ryo said she didn’t say anything. I heard the wolf say he wanted to drink your blood… I also heard Ryo say… *looks away from her* that you were looking for the wolf’s heart…
Mirai: *looks at the fire* …The only mind readers I’ve ever known were demons. So unless you have demon blood in you, I don’t see how you can read minds. But it certainly sounds like you can. *looks at him*
Shawken: *laughs nervously* Wouldn’t that be something… I’ve never felt normal, ya know? Always felt like an outsider. I’ve felt more comfortable here, in the wilderness, than I have in my own house.
Mirai: Hmm… Your mother was human, yes?
Shawken: *looks at her* Yeah. Don’t ask about my father, cause I don’t know. I never met my father. Mom said he died in some freak accident.
Mirai: Hmm… The only way to be sure… is to taste his blood. But if I do that, then I’ll go after him when I’m in my demon form. I can’t take that risk.
Shawken: …Is to what? How can you be sure?
Mirai: *looks at him* You…didn’t hear what I was thinking?
Shawken: *looks at her in confusion* No. I-I guess I didn’t.
Mirai: I wonder if half demons can only hear pure beings thoughts.
Shawken: *looks at her* That wolf was not pure, it was a freakin monster!
Mirai: *rolls her eyes* That’s not what I mean. I mean pure as in, not a half-breed, get it? I’m half angel and half demon. A mixed breed… a mutt.
Shawken: Ohhh I see what you’re saying. I guess that would make sense as to why I couldn’t hear your thoughts even when you changed. I can hear Ryo’s thoughts still… *looks at the fire and then at Kass* I can’t hear what she’s thinking cause she’s dreaming.
Mirai: *looks at Kass* Hmm… I can’t think of why she would be able to feel a heartbeat. Unless…
Shawken: *looks at Mirai* Unless what?
Mirai: Unless she’s a healer.
Shawken: :/ A healer?
Mirai: Ah, sorry. I keep forgetting that I’m not talking to angels.
Shawken: -_- Hey now…
Mirai: *sighs* A healer is someone who is born with a guardian angel watching over them. They think the angel is an imaginary friend, but the angel teaches the child how to heal itself using herbs and other techniques so that when the child grows up, it won’t need protection. But… unless somebody told an angel to watch over Kassandra, I don’t see any proof behind that theory.
Shawken: …Both her parents are alive. Maybe a grandparent?
Mirai: A grandparent could do it. Grandparents usually end up being the child’s guardian angel if the child never gets to meet its grandparents. Mostly because grandparents are pretty greedy when it comes to knowing their family.
Shawken: *smiles* Sounds like a grandparent thing to do, ya know? But even if all of this is true… why did these abilities suddenly appear?
Mirai: Good question. Maybe it means we’re on the right path. Like, we were meant to be together… As painful as that is for me… *she looks at him and smiles*
Shawken: *smiles back at her and looks at the fire* Ryo’s coming over…
Mirai: *gets up and walks in the opposite direction*
Ryo: *looks at her* You’re not going to let me join you two?
Mirai: *stops and looks at him* I need to think. *she walks into the woods and disappears*
Shawken: Should she be by herself?
Ryo: *looks at him* She’s not weak. So what did you two talk about?
Shawken: *updates him on what he discovered about himself and possibly Kass*
Ryo: Interesting.
Shawken: Hm?
Ryo: We all thought we were normal kids… and now look at us. *lets out a soft chuckle*
Shawken: *laughs with him and lies down* Whelp, I’m gonna get some sleep. I’ve had enough excitement for today. *closes his eyes and starts to fall asleep*
Ryo: *gets up and follows in the direction that Mirai went* I wonder what she’s thinking about. I wonder if she remembers what happens when she changes. Too bad I can’t read her thoughts. *comes to a clearing in the woods and he hears a soft splash of water behind him. He turns and walks in the direction of the splash. He stops when he sees a lake in the middle of the forest and Mirai’s clothes on the ground next to a tree* Ok… I really would like to know what she’s thinking. Why the hell she’s taking a swim in the middle of the night?
Mirai: *surfaces in the middle and looks up at the stars* How can I talk to Ryo now after what I… after what SHE said. Stupid half demon, it’s like I told Shawken… I’m just a mutt. *sighs and she feels something slimy brush her thigh* EWWW! *she swims backwards from it quickly*
Ryo: *hears her* What is it?! Are you ok?!
Mirai: O_O *turns and looks to the shore* WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!
Ryo: o.o Eh… Um…
Mirai: ANSWER ME!!! >
Ryo: I was walking!!!
Mirai: You were following me you parasite!!
Ryo: >< Hey now! I have endured your venom enough for today!
Mirai: … I’m sorry.
Ryo: *watches her as she sinks into the water until just her head is above the water* …It’s hard to talk to you when you’re all the way out there.
Mirai: Well I can’t exactly come to you now can I?
Ryo: *laughs* Well… You could…
Mirai: ><’ Not if you want to live!
Ryo: *laughs louder* Then I guess I’ll be with you in a few.
Mirai: o_O WHAT?!
Ryo: *takes off his shirt and wades into the water* Brr! How can you stand being naked in here?! It’s freezing!
Mirai: It’s not that freezing you bab- *she stops and blushes bright red* I… I… *she looks at him as he swims to her*
Ryo: It’s not too bad once you swim around I guess. *looks at her* …hey.
Mirai: *looks at him* Don’t think about this when we get back to camp.
Ryo: Why not?
Mirai: Shawken.
Ryo: Ah. Damn. Can I dream about it at least?
Mirai: *hits him in the head* You pervert!
Ryo: *laughs and rubs his head* Oh come on! I’m human and not just ANY human! *he looks at her and puts his hand to his mouth like he’s going to tell her a secret* >> … << … I’m a man!
Mirai: *looks at him with one eyebrow raised* Oh? What exactly makes you a man? You seem like a horny teenager to me.
Ryo: *gasps* I resent that! I’ll have you know that I am an 18-year old adult! *grins*
Mirai: *laughs* I see. But if a girl were to make a move on you, what would you do?
Ryo: Hmm… I guess that depends on the girl.
Mirai: *looks at him*
Ryo: *looks at her and blushes* I mean… I wouldn’t take anything too far.
Mirai: *swims closer to him* Really? What if the girl wanted you to? *she swims so closes that their faces and bodies are almost touching*

Mirai: *laughs* See? *pushes him* What did I tell you? Just a horny teenager!

Ryo: *puts his hands on her upper arms and slowly moves his face closer to hers* You sure?
Mirai: o_o! *tries to pull free but his grip is strong* You wouldn’t dare!
Ryo: *looks into her eyes and remembers Tsuharu kissing her. His grip on her arm tightens as he moves his body up against hers*
Mirai: o_o!!! Ry-Ryo!
Ryo: *his jaw tightens as he leans down and kisses her*
Mirai: O_O! *she tries to break the kiss but he won’t release his grip and she slowly closes her eyes*
Ryo: *he kisses her harder and he feels a shock of pain in his lips*
Mirai: *also feels the shock from Ryo’s lips*
Ryo: *releases her and touches his lips*
Mirai: *opens her eyes and looks at him* o_o… *her lips pulsate from the shock*
Ryo: I wonder… *he leans down again*
Mirai: *smacks him with such force that he flies out of the water and hits a tree. She swims to the shore and goes behind a tree to put her clothes back on* You no good, little… *a growl escapes her throat* How dare he! Who does he think he is?!
Ryo: Ow… that really hurt.
Mirai: GOOD! ><’’’
Ryo: *stands up and walks to her* What?
Mirai: You were completely out of bounds.
Ryo: Puh-lease! It was just a kiss. You didn’t stop Tsuharu…
Mirai: *turns to face him* You really are stupid. Tsuharu is an angel… not a human. Half-demons can’t smell or taste angels the same way they can smell or taste a human. Oh, and what am I Ryo? Oh yeah! I’m half-demon! You’re little “kiss” could have killed you… I could have killed you.
Ryo: *looks at her* You don’t seem that dangerous.
Mirai: I knocked you into a tree!
Ryo: …True. But you didn’t kill me. *smiles*
Mirai: That doesn’t mean I didn’t want to!! Besides, you won’t get what I’m talking about because you can’t smell humans like demons can. *turns to walk away but she stumbles*
Ryo: *catches her but she becomes very limp in his arms* Mirai? Hey… Mirai are you ok?
Mirai: Uhhh *holds her head* no… I think I might be sick.
