Deployment date, Lincoln pup, and Athena update

We've had Lincoln for 7 weeks now, half his life as he's 14 weeks old today. He is an absolutely JOY and we love him so much. He's sweet and snuggly and LOVES to play with Ray Charles, who now that Lincoln is bigger, is actually starting to enjoy playing with him. Lincoln still needs to learn some boundaries, and Ray is sometimes too kind to really give them to him.

He's very smart and I was hoping to get him into puppy class this month, but next week I head to my aunt's to house sit for her and we'll be gone two weekends so I decided to just wait and enroll him when I'm back home. We're already working on all the basics, and he's doing really well. I'm kind of obsessed with him and he's taken over my social media but honestly the world needs more cute puppy pictures so I'm not going to stop. :)

Athena is doing ok. It's good days and bad days and she even plays with the puppy some! He's VERY careful and gentle with her and doesn't play at all with her like he does with Ray. She's stopped eating most of her kibble food and will eat chicken and some hot dogs and I usually try to mix in some pumpkin as well to help her stool. It pains me to buy it but I'll feed her anything she'll actually eat. We play it day by day and will continue to just keep on keeping on until she tells me she's done.

We have a deployment date. I suppose I shouldn't actually post it anywhere but it's sometime in October. Brian is currently in CA visiting family and then next week I head to GA so I see him for 8 days in all of August and then he has training for most of September so I'll see him for 9 days in September. It's basically practice. They did shorten the deployment to 9 months but you know, things change. I'm usually fine about it and then I'll have a panic attack out of no where. But for the most part... I'm fine. Meh.
