I know I do have some marathon runners on my flist, but you don't need to be a runner to find this video absolutely hysterical:
Marathon Thoughts. Aka, what goes through the mind whilst covering all those miles... *g*

Taken 11 April at 800ft altitude, Bell Hill, Dorset. Isn't that amazing?
This is from the header of an email from my university. It was a request for donations, which comes every year round this time, but the picture struck me. It's obviously very carefully constructed to display maximum diversity - almost, as there's a bit of a gender divide. But what caught my attention was that it's actually a damn good representation of what Toronto is like, within and outside of the university, and I miss all that multiculturalism. Nova Scotia is pretty homogenous. Southampton is too, although half the white people do seem to be Polish rather than English! But I really noticed it at Christmas, because there was a much more diverse racial mix in the city centre, with the German Christmas Market on through December, than I normally see.
Also, the people in this photo look Canadian. I have a really hard time defining the differences between Canadian and British looking people, but I know it when I see it!
