Stuffs
Went to see HP 7.2 this evening. Two thumbs up. Extra points for starting with the final shot from HP 7.1 - I was saying on the way into the theatre that I remembered the *exact* end point, because it was a bloody brilliant way to cut it, but had forgotten the context, ha. So I was hoping for a re-play of that scene to supply the context and lo and behold, there it was. :D
Conversation topics (not during the film!) included Silverchair, and thus leads to me posting my favourite photo of Daniel Johns.
I love that tattoo so much. The colour in it is gorgeous. The eyeliner is just a bonus. :D
The below photo has a bit of context, and the rather amusing process of getting the cami on is, of course, on YouTube. It's from almost exactly four years ago, July 2007 at a concert in Philly.
And a very recent one, from TEDxSydney the end of May - he and Josh Wakely are doing an indie film together and it was a talk/demonstration on collaborative creativity, basically. Watchable here.
He's lovely. I had been tossing around the idea of a fandomy post about Silverchair for some time, as I have quite fallen for the music/Daniel over the last year or so, but a fandomy post about a band requires songs imo and I'd wanted to rip new files for some of what I definitely knew I wanted to share, and hadn't gotten around to it. And then on 25 May, the band made an announcement that they are on indefinite hiatus and going their creative separate ways for the foreseeable, and then I didn't feel like squeeing so much anymore. Ah, well. I shall look forward to whatever Daniel does on his own next (or with whomever else - I wouldn't say no to another Dissociatives album!).
