Back at work today - I stayed home on Th/F and moved as little as possible, because, ow, dammit. The good news is that I didn't break anything. I ended up getting my ankle X-rayed as the specific area where it was hurting meant a possible fracture, but it was clear. I did, however, do a mighty fine job of an inversion sprain. So it's likely to be all puffy for up to two weeks, and will take 6-8+ weeks to heal fully. Yeah. *sigh* My opposite knee is starting to heal, though (the one I landed on). It's currently itchy as fuck and driving me crazy.

Did you know that it's really bloody difficult to get in and out of bed whilst avoiding putting weight on either the left ankle or the right knee? You do now!

I am meant to keep the ankle elevated a lot whilst it's still swollen, and as it turns out, the padded footrest that VL had when she was pregnant (she went on mat leave in February) was still under her desk, so I have snared that. Way more comfortable than a box!

I have a wardrobe issue now with shoes, though - all but one pair of my work-appropriate footwear are actually ankle boots. Because my left ankle has always been a bit weak and they offer more support. And the one pair of ballet flats are not broken in yet and a bit too tight normally, never mind when one foot is swollen. *facepalm* Even my favourite casual pair is my sparkly blue 8-lace Docs, though they should be okay if I lace them very loosely - the top is not too structured, lots of give. And my other casuals are colourful paint-splash canvas tennis shoes. Not so much office wear, but they're the only comfy pair I own that end below the ankle!
