To the Canadians and more northerly Americans, that would mean that the roads are being sanded. :D I'm kind of amused that this is apparently worth announcing on status signs along the motorway. My experience tends to be more on the, "Hey, it's icy. Where the hell are the salt trucks?" side!
Just got in from seeing Apocalyptica, who were adorable and phenomenal. They are happy guys, man. Also very, very pretty. (And I still say the one with the long blond hair looks a lot like Billie Piper, especially in profile. It's the jawline! I don't know why it's funny that I think a Finnish metal cellist looks like a British actress. *g*) They did not have any guest vocalists with them, but the audience was perfectly capable of providing the singalong for I'm Not Jesus and the several Metallica tunes they played - including Nothing Else Matters, which I probably should have expected to hear but for some reason had not, so I was extra pleased about it. The crowd was an interesting mixed-bag of alternative. One of the guys in front of us had blond asymmetrical-banged Kyle Cookemo hair, guyliner, black nail varnish, black and white striped fingerless gloves... and then a handpainted black leather vest and a studded leather collar. See, that's not where you thought I was going with that at all, LOL. It was all like that, just totally mixed up. Me like. I myself am in dire need of a haircut - I keep putting it off because I have no freaking clue what I want it to be cut like, except that I wish it would just fucking grow already, because it is a nuisance poking into my eyes when I'm headbanging, not long enough to do it properly. Annoying.
I made the decision that I was going to celebrate today by getting myself a permanent account. Why today? Well, December 10th last year was the day of my car accident, from which spun off a series of events that eventually led to the part where I was able to go to a concert in southern England with
looking_spiffy tonight. On a work night, which means I'd better get my butt into bed, which is where it's warmest anyway. But a "lifetime" purchase to commemorate the fact that I walked away with only a couple of minor burns seemed like a good idea. :-)
