Barcelona-bound
looking_spiffy and I packed to the strains of American Idiot earlier (okay, so it took slightly longer than one revolution of the album :P) and barring those last-minute things to grab, we're ready to head off to Spain tomorrow. Eeeee! I'm excited. Tonnes of planning has been done about what we might go see, etc. - very little of it by me, lol. I've been oddly content to not plan, which is unusual, but that's what happens when you have no two clues about the city you're going to and your travel partner does, and is a google ninja besides. It works. :D Neither of us is taking our laptop, btw, so unless we drop into an Internet café, I'll be offline until Monday night.
I had my interview yesterday to get my National Insurance number (NINo), which went fine. I have a temp number until the predictably slow government mails me the proper one. I also turned down a position through one temp agency today, because it would take me two hours via two different bus systems to get there, and then again to get home. Uh, no thanks. I'll call them again when I get back and see if anything new's come up; I have an appointment with a different agency next week, too. I *was* supposed to do some testing online for agency #1 but their system isn't working for me so I'll just do it the night I get back, since I didn't get to calling the tech support line today. I actually had only contacted agencies this early because I was under the impression that I was supposed to bring proof that I was seeking employment to the NINo interview, however, they never bothered asking for that. I suppose that having valid papers stating that I have a legal right to work was enough. Anyway, it's been impossible to concentrate on anything but the upcoming trip today!
Last but not least, Skindred tickets went on sale today so we scooped those up, for late May. Woo! I need to listen to more of 'em in the next while, heh.
