femmenerd has an excellent round-up of links to stuff about the WGA strike, including some words from a certain Mr. Whedon. I figured a lot of y'all would be interested in that. :-)

Moved desks at work today. We're reshuffling so that we're all on the same side near the manager's new office. Eventually, this will be a good thing - I am now back in a more open space, so I will not feel as isolated and also I'll be able to tell wtf is going on, which is difficult when stuck in a back corner with no clear line of sight to the rest of the team. *eyeroll* The actual move, however, is always a pain in the ass. They just move your computer files, not your hard drive, and while this makes empiric sense to me, it also royally pisses me off to have to reconfigure every damned program to my personal preferences. Especially when I can't remember how to do that for one of them! :P At least it's been really quiet (the kind of quiet that would normally have me going batshit with boredom), so I was able to thoroughly clean everything and throw out a bunch of accumulated junk instead of just carting it all over to the new desk like I did last time.

I'm sure there was more, but I'm tired and I'm in a shitty mood for various reasons so I think I'm going to call it a night.

ETA: Joss references a NYT article that refers to writers in "arty glasses and fancy scarves," and rather than the foppish imagery that was meant to evoke, for me it brings to mind Cyrano de Bergerac, and how honourable commanders wore their scarves of office into war even though it made them highly visible targets for the enemy. As for Cyrano himself, well, he was one man whose gift with words outweighed all his others. ♥
