So what, exactly, was I hoping for?

Went digging through my hope chest today - you know, that big cedar-lined box that often sits at the end of the bed? Mine is in my living room, lol, and I crammed a whole buncha stuff in there before I moved to NS and I don't think I've been in it since. I was looking for my black gloves (which were there! Yay!) but I also found a whole bunch of scarves, including the red, uber wide winter scarf that I've been trying to replace b/c I loved it so much. And then there was a whackload of other things, like icicle lights galore (I used to have them all the way around my living/dining room in my last apt in Mississauga, so I have about 50 feet of 'em!) and black light bulbs, table linens, all kinds of shit, some of which I'd remembered was there and some of which I'd forgotten existed. It all smells good, though. *inhales cedar scent*

So other than picking up a couple more pairs of nylons in case I stick my thumb through them (it's been known to happen), my costume's all set. I *may* end up getting some wrist-length gloves instead, though, b/c my elbows look weird in these ones, much as I used to love them. We shall see. Next weekend I'll pull out the suitcase and start packing. You laugh, but there's all kinds of stuff I can throw in there early that I won't need before I leave, like said costume pieces and prezzies and stuff. Plus, normally, I would put all my toiletries and the like in my carry-on bag and I can't do that anymore - you can't take that stuff in carry-on now - so I have to adjust my packing strategy really quite a lot. :-/ Ah, well. *giggles* My mom gave me some money to buy booze and cigarettes on the way home, heh.

Thanks to the_fink, I am currently enjoying some lovely hot buttered rum. *points to flushed face* Dude, it's so obvious when I've had something to drink, it's nigh embarrassing!
