WOW, today was a day to end all days. It was defiantly a "crawl back in bed, throw the covers over your head and don't come back out till tomorrow.
So today was my daughters cheerleading competition. To start off with, we were late. Nothing went right in the morning. And the coach has a rule that if your daughter isn't here by a certain time, too bad - she is not putting her in, because by then the coach has already changed the routine to fit the girls that did show up. I have no qualms about this rule. Anyways, so yes we are running late, but once we finally get on the road we are making good time. (oh yeah, and the competition was of course at Cal Poly Pomona. (... a 2 hour drive for us.) But like I said, we're making good time, and what should happen?
We get a flat. Even though I could have easily changed the tire, my mother insisted on using AAA. So, I get out of the car and start walking down the fwy to see where we are to tell the AAA people on the phone. And what should I do?
I slip in some gravel and twist my ankle really, REALLY badly. So after the pain subsides, I hobble to the car and deal with it until the AAA guy comes.
Eventually he does come and he changes the tire. Now the time is exactly the deadline for when we were supposed to have Teague there but we are about 45 mins drive away. So there is no way we could make it. *sigh*
We turn around and go home. Once we get back to Palmdale we stop by Pep Boys to get a new tire cause they are the only thing around that is open on a Sunday for some reason. (Of course, it shouldn't surprise me. This is friggin' Palmdale) So we see there are tons of people there waiting for similar stuff to be done. Simple stuff like change a flat, oil change... simple, right?
No, it would be a 2 hour wait!!!
My ankle is throbbing so we go home and plan to goto our normal tire place tomorrow. We get home to a house that is out of everything food and drink wise, but we don't dare leave the house cause we know something bad will happen. All of us go to our respective rooms and relax. Me - I'm elevating my foot.
Not but an hour later my mom tells me that she was cleaning her teeth (she has half dentures) and they slip out of her hand, hit the floor and the very FRONT tooth breaks. *sigh* We're not even safe in our own home.
So after that, we literally crawled into bed and pulled the covers over our heads. And when it was time for dinner, we had a pizza delivered.
