Friday: My boss is so lovely. She invited me and my fellow co-op students over to her house for a pot luck. Some of the student volunteers came along as well. Most of us didn't trust our cooking enough to serve it to other people so we ordered food instead. Except we arrived after our food and my boss had to end up paying for it. We payed her back right after of course. I then proceeded to make this meme.
And here are some other pictures that are really bad that I mostly just took for the sake of taking pictures.
Saturday: All-you-can-eat sushi dinner for my friend's birthday party. Except it wasn't really anywhere close to be her birthday. She wanted to celebrate before everyone left for the summer. But she still plans on celebrating again on her actual birthday. So really she just wanted twice the presents and twice the food. That's actually a really good plan. Afterwards we played Cards Against Humanity and I kept winning, and then we had a legit Monopoly Deal tournament (with a rankings board and everything) and I kept winning again, despite everybody cheering for me to lose because I wasn't underdog enough for them anymore. I don't know why I get so much satisfaction out of winning meaningless card games. I always lose whenever I play against my engineering friends.
Monday: I got to meet my Residence Don team. OH I don't think I actually mentioned it on here (so behind! D:) but I got the job as a Don in residence for the Fall and Winter terms! I can't believe I actually got it. I get to live in residence for free for 8 months and take care of the first years. I'm beyond excited but I'm also slightly very terrified at the amount of responsibility I will have. And apparently I'm not just going to have to look after one single floor like I initially thought, but an entire building. But my fellow Don team seems super great. I can't wait to get to know them better. Being a Don requires a lot of organization and a lot of time management skills, which I am seriously lacking. But one of girls said something really encouraging. She said, "We were hired because they saw something in us." And it is very true. The hiring committee saw something in me that they didn't see in a lot of other people that applied. I've actually been using the fact that I'm going to a Don to help me get off my ass and be more productive. I tell myself, "Amanda, you're going to be a Don soon and you don't want to let anyone down so you need to start practicing how to be more efficient now because you are fully capable of doing so and you need to stop making excuses."
