The big 2-3

Yesterday was my 23rd birthday and I spent it doing all the things I love. I skipped my morning class (Museum Management) and spent the morning lounging in bed with my kitty and reading some of my favorite McShep stories. I got up at about noon and made myself some chocolate chip pancakes and then I spent a couple hours fielding calls from various friends and family wishing my a happy birthday. Then I drove down to this little greenhouse I love and did some shopping there. I have a little deck with my apartment, it's not much, but I'm not much of a grill guy so I have plenty of room to do a little gardening. I'm a bit of a veggie freak so I got a bunch of snow peas, green beans, cucumber, and tomato plants. I'll get them started inside and hopefully it will be warm enough to move them outside in a few weeks. I also got a couple ferns to put around the living room and some violets for my bedside table and some catnip for Jade.

I came home to find a package from Kevin. It was a first edition box set of the Sherlock Holmes stories. Their in great condition for their age, leather bound with just the right amount of wear and tear to show that they'd been well loved. Apparently he'd gotten them off eBay before our breakup, but still wanted me to have them. *sniffle* I hope his future soul-mate appreciates what a sacrifice I made letting such a great guy go.

Anyway, moving on, I had dinner with friends at this great Italian place and when I got back my parents surprised me with a cake (ugh, more food) and presents. I had a really good haul this year actually. I got a digital camera from my parents, a braided leather bracelet, the new Paul Simon CD, an Aero herb garden, and the hardback edition of Eat, Pray, Love from my group of friends, and a card from my sister with a 'good for 1 theater ticket next time you drag your ass to Chicago' coupon inside.

I spent most of today grocery shopping for the huge amounts of Easter cooking I have to do tomorrow. What about you flist? Got any big plans for Easter weekend?
