I'm not the criminal. I've only been unjustly accused.

I shall find the real criminal soon enough, mark my words.

You surprise me, Van! But t'is true I cannot abide a thief; do allow me to assist. What clues have you?

The pie was cherry so we at least know the thief's preference. They left few crumbs so they're clever enough to hide the evidence. I also know that the pie was left unguarded for the half-hour before dinner. It was mostly likely stolen within that time frame.

I've yet to find any suspects though.

And why stand you accused?

I was alone in my office at the time of the theft, but I have no witness to back up my claim.

Indeed, which is why I must find the one who did take the pie, to prove my innocence.
