My covert Whovian wedding
Instead of writing progress notes before I head into work, I'm going to blog about how I'm making my wedding into a covert Whovian wedding.
I gotta say, the temptation to put a life-size TARDIS in the reception venue (*particularly* with an travel themed wedding!) and other overt Whovian references into my wedding is incredibly great. But, keeping in mind that my fiancee is not nearly as crazy as I am and many of my guests will not get the references, I've decided to make it a covert Whovian wedding with things that I can smile about through-out the day and only those particularly sensitive to the 5th season of Doctor Who will pick up on.
1) My appearance: I will have my hair done in a similar manner to Amy's on her wedding day (minus the bump in the back and no veil) as well as a red necklace, red nails, and red heels. This works as the colors for the wedding are red and white.
2) The reception venue: To save money on the centerpieces, I'm taking a page straight from Amy and Rory's wedding and using balloons with ribbon as centerpieces. I won't use the tree-thingies as weights and instead will do my own twist. Any ideas on how to blow up a balloon inside of a balloon?
3) "Something Blue": This will be a TARDIS bridal garter. This one's a bit more obvious as it does have the TARDIS charm on there, but only people looking closely will be able to see it. :)
I think those are the biggies that I can remember right now. Any other covert Whovian ideas to throw in there, please send my way!
