Whilst being unable to speak [due to the regular bout of an un-named illness] I have been pondering the thought of modern medicine and diagnosis, I have had the same doctor in a small country town for about 5 years, she’s very nice and all with her woolen jumpers and gum nut earrings but up until now I have never really questioned her knowledge of ‘new treatments and medical break though treatments’ .. is she ‘with the times’ and just hides it under the sheep she wears on here back or could it be, just maybe, she assumes that the treatments learnt at med. School in the 60’s are still safe and sufficient? I have an image of a bloody nose and her telling me to lay down for Christ sake! Not cool.
So still i remain in bed, for a another week or so hopping that a antibiotic proscribed for lung infections is going to clear up swollen glands, fevers and a stomach ache the size of Turkeys indulgence of ‘delight’ every year!
