HELLO CAMP. Today is a day of mostly uselessness for me. Instead you guys should ask me stuff. Essay questions, not-essay questions, relationships (pick ONE), and/or hot-or-not goes here.

AND NOW THAT THREAD. Let me go pull it up and go through the thought process since it's easier for me that way.

OKAY SO. As of the beginning of that thread, Dera had actually managed to work himself up into a state where he was prepared to deal with Ikki on terms of his choosing. Those terms happened to be a B-Class parts war because of the thread where Zexion suggested it and Reborn decided it for everyone. You don't argue with Reborn. But basically he was okay with doing this, he just also wanted to wait until then so he wouldn't have to deal with Ikki being a moron.

Cue Ikki showing up to be a moron. He was actually mostly okay with this up until about here. Dumbtarded fighting is fine; there wasn't any real threat of 'I am doing what I want because I'm Ikki and don't care what you think' up till then. That comment was what started setting him on edge since he knows Ikki well enough to predict what's coming, and he didn't want to deal with it at all right then. >( Ikki did not take the hints! And then started doing dumb things like calling him ridiculous for being bent out of shape over everything or restraining Gokudera -- WORST THING TO DO. Dera hates being restrained; it's true that we see him tolerating it from Yamamoto, but Yama also never presents himself as a threat when he's doing that. He's always just trying to keep Dera from doing something to get himself hurt or to stop him from hurting someone else. :|b When Ikki does it it comes across as very dominating, and Dera takes a lot of issue with that.

So! By this point Dera is so far out of the mood of wanting anything to do with Ikki that he's pretty blatant in denying all attempts at conversation. :| There are more insults thrown about! And -- okay Dera is usually pretty whatever about insults, but this particular issue he takes very seriously so he's not gonna take it well in the slightest to have his reactions to it being brushed aside with insults. Hence the attempts at killing Ikki in the face.

Skipping down thread a bit -- you can see where Dera starts to snap. When he just gets fed up and starts listing out all the ways he thinks Ikki's a fuck up. >D HE KNOWS VIOLENCE ISN'T WORKING so he's shifted attack style here to try and make Ikki leave him the hell alone. THIS OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T WORK SO WELL. Just after the bout of fighting there he ALMOST GIVES IN but decides against it 'cause. Yeah. He's a stubborn jackass. BUT SO IS IKKI 8( But then, at that point he was in a position where he'd end up in the same state of mind he'd been in at the beginning. He'd decided Ikki was just fed up with the avoidance, and that's a legitimate complaint! Even if Dera hated the way Ikki'd gone about bringing it up, there wasn't much he could say against a complaint like that. He was obviously ANGRIER with Ikki, but . . . not in a way that would have made things worse in the long term? He'd have gone back to the cave and been angry and maybe beaten Ikki up a little later, but it would've been fine in the end. :|b He'd calm down from it.

AND THEN. THEN IKKI BRINGS RESPECT INTO IT. And respect is -- it isn't something you can demand from Dera. Even if Ikki says he didn't care whether Dera respected him or not, getting so angry over the disrespect was enough to jam that button on him. Y-you can't be someone other than a select handful of people and say that to Dera without making him flip out. He meant it very seriously when he said any disrespect he gave Ikki was deserved. In his mind, it was! Ikki fucked up, Dera let him know in his own way. This should make sense! And fuck Ikki if it doesn't. 8|

MORE INSULTING OF DERA'S REACTIONS a-and sob. He's already feeling so trapped and is so furious with Ikki at this point that he kinda SNAPS FOR A MINUTE THERE. W-which is why the crazy Bel-fight icon came up. He really wanted to kill Ikki right then. A lot. And so it led up to SKULLING IKKI IN THE FACE >( Which did make him feel better a bit.

So, uh. Basically the whole thread left Dera with an overall sense of having been forced back into a corner and caged into dealing with Ikki the way Ikki wanted. His reactions, which to him are completely logical, were brushed aside and undermined with all the insulting. A lot of Ikki's attacks were interpreted as being very controlling and dominating. It just did not leave anything close to a good impression on Dera. 8( Ikki's ONLY SAVING GRACE is the relationship that existed prior to this. If it weren't for that he'd be bitching up a storm about it to Yama, but he knows Yama would probably go rape Ikki if he did that so he's dodging questions about it for now. LONG STORY SHORT, Dera is very, very angry with Ikki and still wants to kill him in the face a lot. He's not really okay with approaching him alone right now either since he doesn't want to get backed into a corner like that again. He probably won't avoid him so much since that's what prompted this, and he doesn't want a repeat of it. B-but with the bitter taste it left in his mind, he's not gonna approach him without another mafia member nearby. :| Still very much on edge and uneasy around him.

I am not sure the ending summary made sense. ARE THERE QUESTIONS?

OKAY UH sigh.

So Ikki is KIND OF PISSED and still kind of >:| over it all because. Well. He understands that Dera's insecure or whatever but Ikki was serious about telling him he had nothing to worry about I don't think he really understands just how big a deal it is, really, too, which kind of factors into the whole "WHY ARE YOU BEING RIDICULOUS" thing about the entire argument. But yeah, he's not . . . very happy how it went because he was trying to FIX THINGS and he ended up just making it worse.

And he realizes this! A lot. It's kind of a brick to the face when he realized just how bad it went. But even so, it got what he wanted across to Dera - that Dera should trust him, and stop being angry at him, and that HE WAS NOT EAVESDROPPING YOU DUMBASS IT WAS RIGHT THERE IN PUBLIC. He's basically done and said everything he can beyond apologizing outright (which he will not do ever), so he's just gonna. Go back to acting normal (for him, that is). He figures that if Dera's gonna continue to be pissed at him, he'll be pissed at him, and he obviously can't do anything about it. If it goes the other way? That's great too! What Ikki really wants is just. Things to go back to their retarded form of "normal".

... of course, he may just suddenly decide to screw waiting and go kick Dera's ass again, because lol pissed lol air gear's way of communication lol. But he's hoping that things will resolve themselves eventually, or something will happen that will make things resolve.

But like I said, he's done and said everything he can without just. Punching Dera again and talking WITH HIS FISTS.
