As long as it doesn't actually turn me into a cat, sure!

But you like cats.

They're wonderful, but if I was a cat I couldn't pet cats anymore.

Not in the same way, but....

Don't worry. It won't cat-ify you.

I'm relieved! Okay-- I wasn't really that concerned. I think you're looking out for my well being. *In that kind of weird Schu way, at least*

I like you better as a person than a cat. Really! ::Schu looks out for his own!:: So, step out with me for a non-cat-ifying coffee?

You could keep me in your pocket! But I wouldn't be as good for conversation.

As long as I can put lots of sugar in it. *likes sweet things! give him an unsweetened cup and watch him gag*

Being able to keep you in my pocket is a personal dream of mine! But I would miss the conversation.

I'm going to argue with someone using sugar properly? No way. ::And now they're walking!::

I don't suppose you can read cat minds. *assume he cannot! surely Al would know if he could*

*swinging his arms back and forth, this boy is truly chronically cheerful* I should have guessed you'd be all for the sugar.

Actually, yeah I can. Their thoughts aren't the same as human ones, but I can make them out. ::Schu has depths Al can't even imagine!::

Of course! Sugar is one of the finer things in life. ::There are very few cheerful people in Schu's life who aren't also nuts, so he appreciates the cheerful.::

What! What? What!? *shocked! shocked, pauses for a minute to blink at him, then starts walking again, is really wondering how his head hasn't exploded yet*

I prefer their thinking to dogs'. Dogs are just so overeager, even fawning. Trust me, there are some animals where you just don't want to know what they're thinking.

Cats are more fun! They've got lots of attitude.

*slides his hands into his pockets, thoughtful, wondering what it must be like, squinting one eye with annoyance at the knowledge Schu can heeeearrrr thisssss*

Definitely. I relate to their whole attitude much better. Appreciative of good places to stretch out, sensual, self-interested....

At least with animals I know what's coming into my head is foreign. Some people's thoughts can pass as mine.

Sassy and self-assured!

You really make telepathy sound crappier and crappier every time I talk to you, you know. *not that he couldn't do the same about alchemy, to be honest...*

Definitely!

It can be tough. You need strength and training to get through it. But having lived with it for the majority of my life, I wouldn't want to lose it. A few years ago I was briefly put on some telepathy-muting drugs, and I nearly went nuts. People didn't seem real, my language skills suffered, and it was so horribly silent.
