so i need to rant....
So things at work have been pretty bad.
About 2 months ago, we got a new girl in, *Daisy*(*names are changed) usually they're cashiers. But instead she's in animals. Everyone thinks she's so fucking amazing because she knows alot about salt water fish... which wouldn't make a difference, considering we dont have salt water fish, and rarely have customers who have salt water tanks. So the supervisor was in about 3 weeks ago, and said we had the lowest income in the entire company... and somehow that's my fault, because of lack of fish sales and what not. It doesn't have anything to do with making people buy fish. We have to count dead fish in the mornings, and during the day. I guess when i was working full time, the dead fish count was WAY up. And they were saying i was ordering more fish then we sell and they're dying so the sales were going down.. blah blah. So he said he wanted *Daisy in the animal department full time. and i got stuck with part time. i'm working 4-close almost every night, and mornings on the weekends. Which really hurts my paycheck because i only make $6.50, I've been there for 2 fucking years, and have only seen 2 raises!! I swear, if i find out somehow that she makes more then i do, i'll be fucking furious.
But, since *Daisy's been in the animal department, we've had more sick fish then ever. We're ALWAYS treating the tanks for something. We have 5 different filtration systems. Only 2 of them are not sick. It seems like there are more dead fish since she's been working too. I have to pick out at least 30 or more dead fish during the day then just in the morning. When i worked full time, and i pulled dead fish in the morning, i wouldn't even fill half a page.. Not even a half a page for one day. And now, it's like a page and a half everyday.
We have a schedual of what we do during the week:
Mondays: Small animals, Rabbits, Ferrets, Mice & Rats.
Tuesdays: Small Birds, Large Birds, Algea Scrubb, Add Salt to tanks.
Wednesdays: Fish truck, Organize plant tank,[on alternating weeks], Mice/Rats/Ferretts/Rabbits
Thursdays: 20% waterchage on Angel tanks, Koi Pond and Feeder tank, Doodle bug depatment
Fridays: Mice/Rats/Ferrets/Rabbits, Reptile tanks, clean betta bowls
Saturdays: Change Filters
Not that big of a list for ONE day.
*Daisy has a whole 8 hours a day to get the majority of what needs to be done on that day. When i come in at 4, i'll ask her what got done, and she'll say maybe one or two small tasks from the list on that day. It's like what the fuck does she do all day!? I found out when i went in on thursday to buy some fish. And she sits around with her thumb up her ass. And i know, its not that busy during the day, because people are working, and she's "tied up with customers all day". In the 5 hours that i work, i get more done then she gets done in 1 day, PLUS deal with customers. It's fucking ridiculous.
I seem to be the only one who notices all this shit. I dont really think my voice would be heard if i said anything. For some reason they favor her.
