why does everyone i wanna see have to hang out at sonar tonight? goddamn it! i don't wanna go there!
wednesday was nine inch nails. we ended up still having 3 general admission tickets and then mike decided last minute he didn't wanna go (apparently he didn't know he was going? wtf but he said he'd pay for it anyway) so we had 4 extra tickets. tried like hell last minute to get someone to take them but i waited too long. my dumb ass forgot to try to sell them til the week of, since we bought them way back in july i forgot it was even coming up. anyway, we sold them to a scalper for $90, which isn't too great but isn't horrible considering he started his offer at $10 each and he really only wanted the general admission. annoying, but i really didn't care.
our seats were pretty decent, to the left side of the stage, not real close but at a good elevation to where we could see over everyone's heads. their set list was predictable, pretty much the whole new album, plus the songs they normally do every show. they did some really cool visual stuff though, the screens in the background lit up different colors and made lots of cool effects. when they came out there was a thin piece of fabric over the stage to where it was blurred but you could see the band, more like their silohettes with a bunch of smoke around them. they later used that fabric pulled down to project images onto it, they pretty much made music videos for "eraser" and "right where it belongs", random nature images, ballroom dancing, the president (everyone booed for him). we had fun and weren't too pissed off by the people around us because they weren't touching us. was actually really glad we went with the seats instead of general admission. i think we would have not gotten the whole picture if we would have been too close, and we didn't have to fight off anyone. we joked about being old cause we picked seats over being in the pit.
got somewhat lost (more like sidetracked and took the really long way to the highway) on the way home. saw a car accident (after it happened) and heather said there was blood and guts but i missed it cause i was driving! we said we hoped it was a car full of head like a hole and closer fans hahaha. stayed up way too late talking to johnny, paul, and johnny's friend. stayed up even later in johnny's room but thats always worth missing sleep. had to be at work at 10am the next day.
thursday hung out with nick for a few hours, just talked and sat around my house watching weird plastic surgery shows on tv. just met him so we have plenty to talk about, and he seems like the type of person i could talk to for a long time frequently and not get tired of. he had to go to work early the next day so he left around 11 and i hung out with jeff after that til about 2. jeff and i went to his new house and smoked a bowl and talked about a bunch of random bullshit, mostly about tattoos. his house is coming along really well, every time i go over there it looks so much nicer.
tonight i'm gonna actually get decent sleep, at a normal time, cause i need it. my sleeping pattern is pretty fucked up lately. supposed to go see saw 2 tomorrow after work with johnny, possibly luke and linda too. i NEED to see that movie, everyone's been telling me how great it is.
