(no subject)
today i'm supposed to hear about getting a new oven put in, which is potentially exciting (i really want to make my damn pizza!), but that's been dampened (haha puns) by another problem. last night, when we went downstairs we saw the entire unfinished back part of the basement is seriously flooded. which was really confusing because it didn't rain or anything. we didn't see it til like 1:30am, so we decided to just clean it up as best as we could and deal with it in the morning. we used sooooo many towels. this morning we wake up and there's MORE water. WTF! it was hard to tell where it was coming from since it was EVERYWHERE, even with all the towels. i did some investigating and figured out it's coming from the hot water heater, which means now that's fucked too. my dad and uncle came over and shut off the hot water and the gas line to the heater, so it won't keep leaking or cause any more problems. i've got a plumber coming between 1 and 2 today. this is gonna cost me another pretty penny. looks like i'm gonna have to ask for another boring appliance for my birthday from my parents again this year. last year my dryer went up and had my parents get it for me instead of a birthday present, guess this year it's either the hot water heater or the oven. lucky me. i love being old and responsible. happy 26th birthday, here's an appliance! lol. my birthday is still over 2 months away but they'd probably just do it for me as an early present. this is sooooo lame.
