(no subject)
not a whole lot happening in this past week. for valentine's day (which we celebrated wednesday to avoid the crowd) richie surprised me by taking me to kobe, which is a japanese steakhouse where there's a grill attached to your table and they make the food in front of you while doing tricks. it was pretty fantastic. i hadn't been there in a few years and we had talked about going a few times and just never got around to it til now, so he thought that would be perfect. there were several birthdays, i think 3 different people got "happy birthday" sung to them. and the birthday girl (woman, named lisa haha) at our table wasn't too happy cause the cook accidentally squirted her camera phone with water, then later on accidentally dumped water on the table and some of it went her way.
richie got a whole new stereo setup for his car for his birthday (i paid for half of it). it sounds really nice. i was hearing things i never heard before in songs i know pretty well. saturday we went to the movies and saw strange wilderness. we had to go to arundel mills because it wasn't playing anywhere else, which i thought was weird. it was a pretty funny movie, really ridiculous.
i found something i really want to do by looking at one of the lj spotlights, it's called operation happy sock http://www.operationhappysock.com/ . you get to take old socks and fill them with stuffing and catnip, and then tie it off and give it to shelter cats who may not have any toys to play with since shelter budgets are usually pretty lacking. heather and i are probably gonna start doing it on thursday, and we'll take them to the shelter where we got plato. if timing works out, we may even be able to volunteer there. they need "kitty cuddlers" (they make cats feel more comfortable with their surroundings and with humans) which i know we can do! i've been wanting to do something like this for a while.
richie's birthday party is on saturday so we bought all the goodies for that yesterday. i'm a little scared at what kind of punch we're making, it involves everclear lol.
we are going to ocean city after work on the 29th, and will stay there over the weekend. also, heather, shanna and i will be going to the new york hair show april 27 + 28. and shanna already decided what she'd like to do for her (and heather's, it's the same day) birthday, cedar point! although that's really far away (july) i'm already really looking forward to it. i love the idea of going somewhere i've never been, and i never take real vacations anywhere farther than i can drive. that's my main goal this year, to go places i've never been.
