Hi, I'm back from my trip =^_^=
well, I actually got back a few days ago but couldn't bring myself to post an entry with only 'I'm back' in it. I had a really awesome time and if I got any good pics (I haven't checked them yet) then I'll post them here.

I'm not the kinda gal who believes in one OTP per fandom but I tried to have as many different fandoms as possible while doing this. That means that I pulled some of them out of my ass, but that doesn't mean I don't love them any less (well it does, but lets not think about that)

I picked this song cause I think there's something anticipating and a sense of inevitability over it. Plus it's an song about soldiers going to war and maybe not returning.
These two break me more than any other couple in any fandom. Yes, even the Winchesters are second to these two, cause Sam and Dean still have a chance at a happily ever after. Matt and Mello don't.
I'm curious about Matt's motive for following Mello on his crazy schemes even though he's more than smart enough to see that Mello probably weren't...all there some of the time.
And Mello, someone with an obvious minority complex and a determination that makes nearly any and all losses acceptable as long as he gets what he wants...yeah things where never gonna end well for them were they?
Since I can't read anything about them without the knowledge of how it all will end lurking in the back of my mind, I always see their relationship (both slash and non) as highly Bittersweet.

3. Ronja/Birk -- Ludovico Einaudi - 'Divenire'

What can I say, Ronja was/is my hero and her friendship with Brik is close enough to be that of a brother without the baggage of the idea that a male and a female can't be friends without some sort of physical attraction. It's childhood friendship and therefore it's friendship in one of it's purest, most honest (and in some ways most brutal) forms.

If Grimmjow would somehow get over that Renji and his friends killed all of his fracción (and possible adoptive family) and get together with him then they might be like a more lethal version of Renji and Ichigo. They would probably get caught up with each-other, both having short fuses and both liking attention (even if Grimm probably wants it more than Renji) and have some similarities in the way they think. Both of them have a habit of throwing themselves headlong into fights and not holding anything back with...varied results. Anyway, Renji would make fun of Grimm for wanting to be the 'king of the world' but not let him get away with trash talking Soul Society (he might be a bit of a push over but he's not easily intimidated, especially when it comes to defending his friends) and Grimm would never be bored cuz he would always be able to get a rise out of Renji. Their fights, sulking and eventual make-up sex would be legendary. Or they could have rough Hate!sex, that works too.
On a somewhat related note, I really tried to find a song for Renji/Hisagi. That couple doesn't get enough attention but alas, I couldn't find anything that fit better than ABBA's 'When I kissed the teacher' and that didn't quite sit right with me DD:

I went back and forth between the NIN version and the cover by Flyleaf but decided on the original cause it had a more dream-like feeling.
I actually prefer the non-slash variety of this couple (mostly cause 99% of the fics I've seen/read features John as an alcoholic, emotionally abusive, rapist and I'm tired of it).
I'm still fascinated about the years that Sam were gone, how that changed their dynamic. Dean gaining more freedom in hunting, becoming more of an equal yet still retaining the hero worship (as late as in 'Fallen Idols' do we hear that even after everything, John is still Deans hero and not Bobby who's 'like a father to me' as Dean said in the ep 'Dream a little dream'. I'm nit-picking I know, moving on).
Maybe what I mean to say is I like the thought of what sense of PURPOSE they must have given each-other to handle being just two instead of three and how that came about.
(My thoughts on solely Johns is better said with the song 'Night Vision' by Suzanne Vega though)

Lavi and Kanda lend them selves so well to angst, but I like the subtle play-fullness of this track (or maybe I'm just hearing things, who knows?)
*Sighs* After reading issue 188 I have a feeling that my D.Gray-Man OTP is threatened but, until then.
I think that somehow, they've managed to get underneath each others skin further than either one will admit or even realize.
I also think that the denial could be a good thing. A relationship/deep friendship could threaten what each of them have been trying to build up over the years and I don't think they'd take to kindly to that thought. And even if they did work it out neither the Bookmen nor the Black Order are places where turning in your membership card is an easy thing to do.

For me they are two big dorks who 'thanks to' what they've been through aren't used to being out of resources no matter the situation, they're smart and dorky and I like that. TBH, I can only listen to this song when I'm in a certain mood cause otherwise it gives me headaches but when I do I always get the sense of sneaking around in the background and not having a clue about what's going on secrets, political intrigues and what not *cough*Boiling Rock*cough*

omg, I basically copied the whole song *headdesks*
Ahem, even if you decide go with the platonic relationship instead of the hotdirtybadWRONG! that their relationship would have been had they been slashed (L being 10 years older than Mello and dying shortly before Mello turned 15) it's still a continent from being a healthy relationship. There's a feeling of urgency in Mello's fixation with L that could easily turn sexual or violent and given different circumstances he might have become a new BB (The line between 'want you' and 'want to become you' is so easily blurred).
I'm thinking along the lines of Whammy era for this song. Mello having just found out about L's demise and losing his big brother/hero almost father figure in one swoop.
(if you like the more slashier alternative you could always choose the song 'Be like water' by Sarah Fimm for a one-sided confused crush Mello ;P)

Ed and Al after the movie ends. They have a Winchester-ish brotherly relationship that I adore and that's one of the reasons why I can't quite turn my back on this fandom yet even though I'll probably never take an active part of it.
