So AWA was super fun. Super super fun. And I hope I can remember all of it now since I put off posting this for forever.
So we drive down there on Friday. The drive itself was uneventful unless you count Kacey having to go to the bathroom really bad about the time we entered Chattanooga and then us not stopping for about 20 more minutes. For future reference - bad idea: drinking a Route 44 Vanilla Dr Pepper before a 4 hour drive. XD Kacey also pointed out to me that the 'i' on Georgia roadsigns is undotted, so now it drives me insane, too.
Well anyway, we get down there and snoop through the dealer room a bit. I figured it would be less crowded since it was Friday, but it was still really crowded. Kacey lost her changing-into-cosplay-in-a-parking-garage virginity with us. I was very honored to have been there. Then she and I went to her Strawberry Panic! photoshoot while Matty got the hotel. Luckily that was the one day it didn't rain. It was pretty interesting to see how an actual photoshoot went, and if I get unlazy and learn to sew and make my own costume sometime, I think I'd like to do one. Afterwards we dealer-roomed some more and watched a presentation on sewing techniques which I didn't understand at all. XD Then we ate tasty Mongolian foods and went shopping for poles for our flags and some moustaches for my South Italy costume because I lost the one I bought in Cookeville. :(
Then we went to Anime Hell. It was pretty lolzy, but it would have been better if the screen was bigger and I wasn't too short to see over everyone. Plus this annoying Bleach cosplayer came in and sat in front of Matty halfway through so he couldn't see anymore, and he tried to have a witty repartee with Matty and failed spectacularly.
Then sleep. I slept on the pull out sofa bed. When I woke up in the morning, my side was covered with bedbug bites. It sucked. :(
Then on Saturday we geared up in our Hetalia costumes. Kacey went as America first, but later changed into Italy because the bomber jacket was too hot. I was Romano all day. I got raped by Spain in the lobby multiple times, and it was lulz. We ended up running into a bigger group of Hetalia cosplayers, so I ended up hanging out with them while Kacey and Matty went to the Artist's Room and back to the hotel to change. They were super lulz. Italy and I were acquisitioned by Spain along with our pasta and tomatoes. I was again seckesed by Spain under the flag. There was much prop stealing, Turkey mating calls (OALOALOALOALOALOALOALOALOAL), and GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURL~ We got Italian Ice. There was much singing of "That's Amore." It was good. Spain and Italy and Germany and I are friends on deviantart now. XD
Kacey rejoined us for the big group shoot in the lobby as Italy. It was pretty hectic because there were a ton of Hetalia cosplayers and not much space. The highlight of this was the big group photo during which we started shouting a bunch of foods related to the countries. I can think of "pastaaaa!" "tomato!" "beer!" "hambaagaa!" and "fish n chips!", but I think there were more. Canada suggested "Maple syrup!" but was met with the standard reply of "Who said that?" There was a super lulz England with a unicorn walking around asking if anyone else could see it. All in all a lulzy experience.
Afterwards we went to see the live action 20th Century Boys, which was pimpin. I really want to see the next two movies now, and I wish they'd release the manga faster in America. I NEED TO KNOW. We then took pictures on the stairs and about gave the security lady a stroke when we sat on the stairs even though there was no traffic in that area. Afterwards we ate at Carrabas and I had a tasty chicken with feta cheese on it. Then we had an adventure as Matty got us lost and then found us again. We got to see real Atlanta because of it rather than fake tourist Atlanta. Then when we found the con again, we went to Anime's Craziest Deaths, which was pretty great too. There were some pretty funny ones.
My favorite was this one. There were some pretty awful dubs that were pretty lulzy, too.
Then we went back to the hotel, changed halfway back into our Italy costumes for tangled ahoge shots, then bed. I slept on the floor because I didn't want more bedbug bites. It was actually more comfortable than the couch, anyway. Also, the roof started leaking.
On Sunday, we went to a Japanese book store and Tomato, this awesome Japanese grocery store. I got delicious curry and melon pan. Then we hit up the dealer room again. We saw Vic, and I am sad we didn't get his autograph for Hank since Hank is his biggest fan. Hank would've enjoyed burning it. I bought my first doujin. It's Spain/Romano. XD I've always wanted to buy a doujin and this seemed like a lulzy option. We went to IKEA and it was pretty epic. I wish I'd gotten my futon from there because they had some pretty sweet cheap ones. Then we went home. It rained the whole way back which sucked, but at least we got out of Atlanta before it was underwater.
And now for pictars. Click on them to make them bigger. These are also in no particular order.
Sleeping Italies. I'm making fun of Hank sucking his thumb when he sleeps.
All of the Italies + Pimp Spain. I don't know how many people I almost killed with that flag.
Romajii-chan! South Italy gets no love, so I shall sulk.
Here's the big group photo. I think we were singing Maru Kaite Chikyuu.
Kacey and I posing for someone. I actually really like this picture.
DO. NOT. SIT. ON. THE. STAIRS.
I approve of this moustache.
Moustache pictures were way more amusing than they should have been. XD
Spain made a heart with my and
Italy's ahoges! 8D
I love how the flash made it look kind of like America's teeth had the little sparkly ting on them. XD
The other South Italy found tomato cider in the dealer room. Spain approves.
This guy was pimpin. Gogo Gankutsuou!
Brothers! America and... who?
Spain was such a pervert. XD Chibitalia's friend HEARTILY DID NOT APPROVE and kept commenting about all of the nerds that were around. I wonder what she expected at an anime con? XDDDDD
Here's the other Romano. She was cool. I really like how this picture turned out, too.
This was my favorite picture from the con. XDDDDDDDDDD Finland-Claus was awesome, though.
Here's Kacey's tea party! I love how she's eyeing those pastries. XD
This guy was awesome, too. Probably my favorite costume of the con. XD
Here's a full view of Kacey's Strawberry Panic! costume. Also, wtf tiger in the background. XD
Also:
I don't know what is wrong with us but I like it.
Also, today was my birthday. I spent it getting my car fixed, going to Carrabas to get more of that tasty chicken, and visiting the Sunrise Supermarket in Knoxville, which is OMG HUGE and so awesome. Kacey you have to go. It's like huge. And they have all sorts of fresh meat and fish and frozen stuff, too. And a lot of fresh vegetables and a bakery that does bread. And I'm pretty sure I may have seen some of those breads that have meat and stuff in them. I didn't see melon pan, but I didn't look too hard for it because we were in a rush and mom had to take me because my car was in the shop and she couldn't stand the fish smell. I got more stuff for curry. :D Also, the guy at the shop fixed my car for free! It was leaking oil because the valve cap they put on it last time had something wrong with it, and he said it was their mistake so we didn't have to pay for it. SCORE.
Tomorrow mom and I are going out to eat with Granny, and then on Sunday we're visiting Memaw and I'm making curry for dinner. And as per Shannon:
