O HAY YALL REAL LIFE YALL

HOKAY SO real life update/anime update 'cause I've not done one in a while.

MTAC was FABULOUS. Well, not really. I'm exaggerating. It was so-so as conventions go, but running around with Kacey, Matty, Amanda, and Hank was really fun.

DAY 1: Kacey and I finally found a wig and some purple hairspray that would work for the Misato wig at some shop in Lebanon, so we drove down to Lebanon and got it in an EPIC ADVENTURE involving my ears refusing to pop and a desperate search for a decent radio station. Once we got it, we pissed about until 2 so we could partake in Happy Hour at Sonic (mmm vanilla Dr Pepper), and by piss about I mean drove around the outlet mall while I went "HAY GOOD STORES WOW" and Kacey showed me the barren wasteland of the back side of the mall. I was so scared and saddened by all the desolation. :( I have nightmares, let me tell you. Then we went back to Kacey's house, and I got the GRAND TOUR of beautiful Carthage. I was saddened that there were no elephants, but I was impressed by the BRAND SPANKIN NEW WALMART. WHOO BOY! When we got to her house, I was greeted by the most adorable baby calico kitten ever. Kacey's other kitties were cute, too, even if they were really devils. <3 She showed me FFXI, which is really pretty, and we played Singstar (horribly), then SSBB (horribly), then Mario Party 8 (also horribly). We almost lost to the freaking computers on Easy mode. :( Then when Amanda, Hank, and Matty got there, we went and Supported the Rebellion at the local Pizza Hut, which had a wonderful salad and pizza dinner buffet. I was in HEAVEN. <3 We played Mario Party again with Hank and Amanda when we got back, and Hank owned us in the face. At least I got to use Waluigi's annoying heckle, though. :D NYEEEEH!! WALUIIIIGIII NUMBEEEER ONEEEE! Then we watched Otaku no Video, which was really funny and very 80s, played Battle of the Sexes, and then went to bed.

DAY 2: We drove to MTAC with sweet tunes playing on the radio (aka Macross KYUUN KYUUN, Dongo song, and other anime songs), walked in the front door of the hotel when we got there, were directed to the back of the hotel for registration (WOW ORGANIZED), were sent to three million different tables to get the badges, left and got a room in a nearby much cheaper hotel (I still need to pay you, Kacey! D:), went to this AMAZING Mongolian restaurant (which I kind of felt odd eating at since it was called Ghengis Grill, and knowing the kind of guy Ghengis Khan was I couldn't shake the feeling that I was probably eating soylent green people), got stuck behind a wreck on the way back to the hotel to change into cosplay and entertained ourselves by screeching Phantom of the Opera, then off to MTAC it was. We went to the dealer room and I got quite a bit of awesome stuff, including a Kuro-pii key chain, a PenPen doll (which went so well with the Misato outfit :B), an Edgeworth iObject shirt, some posters (including a Saiyuki poster and some Tsubasa posters with Kurogane and Fai on them since I can't stand Syaoran or Sakura), and a giant box of those Koala cookies that are AMAZING. I ate them all in one night. I also got a bottle of Kirin tea stuff which wasn't nearly as good as it looked. I realized later that it was the same brand that Gackt sang that hilarious engrish "Feel da FIIYAAA" song for and did the commercial for, so I think I understand why he fell off of that mechanical pony when he drank it now. It wasn't that great. I also ran into Garret, this guy at my school that has been borrowing my Discworld books. That was pretty crazy. Next, we stood in the ridiculously long line for the cosplay contest which wrapped around the building and got pretty pissed off because we stood in line at least 45 minutes after the line was supposed to move, then got ushered into the overflow room where the event failed to start for another 30 or so minutes. I was pretty thrilled to find an Adrian Andrews cosplayer behind us in line, though. :D Anyway, we left before the thing even started to watch Macross: Do you remember love? instead, which was amazingly 80s and very epic. <3 I'll have to watch the rest of the series now. Then we left and got some food at Jack in the Box, and they took forever with my cheeseburger so I wasn't a very happy Misato. We went back to the hotel and changed out of cosplay and into normal clothes (Kacey and I in our matching Feenie and Edgey iObject shirts :B). Then we went out and watched the first three episodes of Blue Drop, which were awesome enough for me to download the rest of the series. I highly recommend it. XD Then we went back and went to bed.

DAY 3: We got into our Phoenix Wright cosplay, checked out, went back to the con, and went to the dealer room again. Then we figured there wasn't anything else worth doing, so we went to Shoney's for lunch (in our cosplay) before heading back. The woman at the register asked Kacey and I if what we were wearing (our Phoenix and Edgeworth costumes) were our school uniforms or something because she'd seen two other people wearing clothes like ours in there yesterday. XD They would be the best school uniforms ever. Cravat plz. <3 Anywhos, then we went back, where we took pictures with baby kitty, then went home. It was super special awesome chocolaty fudge coated super fun. :B

Non-MTAC wise: Matt and I went and saw Iron Man and it was amazing. I need one of those suits. <3 I love the bit after the credits, too. We went to Olive Garden and hung out at Borders, too. It was really fun. I've also started working again. I'm a bit pissed because they've only scheduled me for 8 hours this week. Hopefully I'll get more or else I'll be looking for another job.

Anime and manga wise:
,
Code fucking Geass. Oh my god. It's really shaping up to be an epic season. Nunally is the freaking Governor of Area 11 and wants to do the special area like Euphie, Failzaku is continuing to be epic fail, Gino and his transformer are fan-fucking-tabulous, and V.V. is the EMPEROR'S BROTHER WTF? Please tell me I wasn't the only one that caught that! OH MY GOD WHAT? Also, flailing!Lloyd is epic win. <3 I can't decide if I like Lloyd or Gino better.

I've downloaded xxxHolic - Kei and will be watching it soon. :D I can't wait!

I've also started reading Tsubasa again. I'm up to volume 22 now. I got to the epic Eyeball eating Syaoran and broken ankle Sakura bit. It's pretty epic. Kacey, you have to get past the lame piffle race so you can get to Kurogane's backstory and Fai's wtfamazinglyemo backstory. Also, for this one scene with the most epic Syaoran face ever:

Icon is forthcoming. >__>

RANDOM THOUGHT: Need lulz Kuro-daddy/Fai-mommy AMV to George Michael's "Faith" because if ever a song has sounded like Fai, it is THAT SONG. It's so happy and fruity. Also, clappy and snappy. xD I don't know why, but I can totally see Fai flouncing around every world and screaming that song at Kurogane and doing the clappy and snappy bits as Kurogane screams at him and threatens him. XDDDD God I'm such a geek.
