Oh em gee!!
I just found out that The Color of Magic is being made into a made-for-tv movie.
Sean Astin as Twoflower makes me giggle more than is necessary, and I think Tim Curry will be suitably creepy as Trymon. However, I don't think I'm going to be able to listen to Christopher Lee as Death and have Sean Astin on the screen at the same time without thinking "OMFG SARUMAN!!! RUN, SAM, RUN!" All we need is an Elijah Wood cameo. Ye gods, I'm so excited.
And now for a quick update since the last time I made a serious post:
1. I'm 21 now, so I can drink. I've discovered the joys of coconut rum and pinapple orange banana juice. <3 I'm dying to try the mochatini at Applebees, but I have to find a designated driver.
2. The weekend before my 21st birthday, a bunch of my friends surprised me and took me out to play lazer tag, eat, and go bowling. It was so freaking awesome. Also, mom got me a Wii. Wii Sports is so freaking fun.
3. Some friends and I went on an outing to Burgess Falls. I have some pictures up on my sheezyart account. I'm too lazy to upload them and post them here. =/
4. My English Research and Methods teacher is absolutely insane and completely unorganized. It's turned into a class on criticism, as well. We've talked about biographical and psychoanalytic criticism of Jane Eyre for the past 7 or 8 classes. She keeps repeating herself, and it's boring as hell. Also, it was only last week that she applied criticism to the novel. Before, she told us she wasn't going to go in depth because she "didn't want to spoil the ending for anyone who hasn't finished it yet." I'm thinking, "We're Literature majors, and it's halfway into the semester. They ought to have finished a 400ish page book by now."
5. The Saiyuki Reload: Burial OVA is freaking awesome. It just sucks that Geneon went under, so there's no telling how long it'll be until it comes out in America. Also, it's sucks that Tokyopop isn't releasing Saiyuki Reload Vol. 8 until June 2008.
6. amdragonfly123, kaurin, and I have started a new icon community called ohsnap_icons. I've still yet to make my first post, although I am working on some icons. I'm also thinking about doing the ljinserests icon theme thing that's been going around.
7. Today, we College Democrats discovered that our club sponser has invited her American Government classes to our "Hey, let's watch the Democratic Debate on TV" party and has offered extra credit for attending. Kacey and I are starting the College Democrats Mafia, and shall remove any trouble makers from the premesis.
8. Our drama troupe show's theme this year is ancient gods and myths. Amanda and I have written a few skits. I may post them later.
9. I'm heading to Middle Tennessee Anime Convention this year with Kacey and Amanda. Anyone else going?
10. Terry Pratchett's new book Making Money was amazing. I don't want to spoil it for those of you who haven't read it yet, but the courtroom scene was absolutely amazing. Mr. Fusspot is love. <3
That's about it, I think. That update turned out a lot longer than I intended it. If there's anything, I'll post it later. Not that everyone gets a huge kick out of reading these posts. My life isn't so captivating as that. >_>
