end of year fanfic meme
Ganked from Bay, since I have been writing a lot in the last half year.
Favorite:
the detonation of your words, the connotation of your affection. Considering how that's for the first fic challenge I've ever joined, I can say I'm pretty proud of it. Obviously, the plot idea is pretty overused... but eh, I liked writing it anyway - doubly so because I got the first draft out in one night. |D
Best:
I don't really get a lot of comments in the first place (which is okay), but if we're talking about an unexpected good comment I'd say that goes to a ghost in me wants to say I'm sorry. I got a really nice comment out of it, and wholly unexpected too, so I can really appreciate something like that. ♥
Most underappreciated by the universe:
My Novakcest verse drabbles. Not because they're well written or anything (because they are not), but because more people need to appreciate its beauty. It's not about the twincest (although that's hot too) but more of the complications that Jimmy and Jacob can still bring and it rivals even what Sam and Dean have going. It's something I really really like about this AU, after getting past the whole two Misha thing.
Most fun to write:
we all scream for ice cream. Total, total crack, but I had a lot of fun getting it out anyway. Date totally has a thing for ice-cream.
Sexiest:
...I rarely write any actual porn, but I'd say this goes to my deancas_xmas fic. I can't say which one yet since the santas haven't been revealed, but I will just say that I have a terrible wing!kink.
"Holy crap, that’s wrong even for you?":
More for the story than... stuff, it would be and a righteous man will hold. The story is pretty mindscrewy and very confusing unless you know the meta behind Dissida, although I wrote this to get out of my system more than anything else. I do intend to write the full length version for this one day, perhaps for spn_j2_bigbang in 2012/2013. I'll just see how things go.
Fic that shifted my own perception of the characters:
The monster I'm writing for my gabriel_bigbang, faith is a series of complications. When I started I only had the basics of Gabriel in my head, but as I wrote him more and more unexpected stuff came out, and there are sides of him that I've discovered that I really find illuminating. It's a ball writing this fic, and I do hope I can return to it soon once I am able to.
Hardest to do:
My current project, which is my entry for dc_dystopia. As much as I love dark fics writing them is another thing altogether, and its not really my forte. Still, I hope what I have will be good enough, at least. It's not so much of a dark fic than a hopeless, angsty one, which I think in a way is pretty dark on its own.
Biggest disappointment:
The fact that I haven't finished my dc_dystopia entry yet. I NEED TO GET TO THAT.
Biggest surprise:
My Ghost Trick stuff. Never expected to actually get out fic for a game like this, and even more so that I had some good responses. I should get back to it one day.
Most telling:
My Jimmy fic, no one takes your freedom. It really set the base for my upcoming jimmybigbang fic, and while its not a direct sequel, it still links back to this fic quite a bit. Obviously, I'm going to have to note this down when I have the chance...
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?:
I wrote a lot more than I expected myself to write. Granted, I never expected myself to get back into fic writing like this, so I can't really say much. XD It's been refreshing though, I can say that.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?:
Anything in Supernatural in general hahaha. I sure as hell never expected myself to feel so strongly for Dean/Castiel. It's kind of... strange, but refreshing. IDK.
Did you take any writing risks this year? (See above for unexpected pairings, etc.):
Going back to writing in general. My English has never been the best compared to everyone else here, so putting out my stuff for fandom gets me pretty nervous. Still, things have been okay so far, so I guess I can't complain yet. |D
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?:
Finish all the projects I still have (dc_dystopia, dc_everafter and gabriel_bigbang) and at least get something out for either spn_j2_bigbang or deancasbigbang. Also write more Novakcest fic, because the world needs more of that. Other than that, that should be it, I think. School is going to get pretty hectic for me, so I might need to cut down on this too in the future. We'll just see, I guess.
