I love the winter olympics. I forget just how much I love watching them until they come back around and I'm just like "FUCK THIS IS AMAZING" lol
Short track speed-skating is ridiculous and amazing. It's my favorite to watch, it has the perfect balance of grace and beauty to it - the flow and way the athletes make it look so effortless - and potential for disaster, with the speed, the aggression, and, you know, that whole blades-on-the-feet thing. The Koreans are hardcore. And Apolo is badass. And freaking adorable. And from Washington. *pride* lol :D
And figure skating is lovely. Some of the dances in particular were just wonderfully done. And it always makes me want to go ice skating, not because I want to try and do all the crazy leaps and stuff (oh, I know I'd die), but just because when they're going it just looks like such a rush. It's like horse back riding. It's fun to watch, but whenever I do, I'd just rather go out and do it myself. Of course, if my knees didn't ache, I'd love to do that again. And I've only tried ice skating once before and I did a terrible job and was just frustrated and retarded. I don't think I can even regular skate, let alone do it on ice. :x
Wouldn't mind trying it again some time, though...
Ice skating judges need to shut the fuck up, though. Seriously. Especially that one woman. She's just an obnoxious bitch. I don't fucking care if you liked it or not, whore, it was still incredible.
Curling is kind of fun, too. The rest I can take or leave, though. I don't care much about the skiing or snowboarding. Hockey is... stupid. lol And luge, skeleton, and bobsledding are just way too EXTREME and terrifying, and I do not approve.
