Thank You settaiThis Post brought to you by the letter A- alph, aleph, alpha

Given the breadth of A's if I started into SF & F fictional writings , I have read, I am sticking with 5 fictional characters I love from the seeing them on a television screen. I think there will need to be a separate meme for five fictional characters from that old-fashioned medium BOOKS
.
Though these days they seem to prefer reading fanfic, it's often better written than many current novels, and a whole lot cheaper.

Abby Scuito (NCIS) {TV series }
Making science and computers goth geek cool. For that alone I could love this character. Abby however is a whole lot more, portrayed as a an open-minded individual with a willingness to apply scientific method to both the known and unknown she is definitely a pinup girl. Layered on that is an insightfuless into the team as she makes a nice counterpoint to the blinkers on the rest of her teammates have with regard to each other. Though I'm happy to read fic with her paired with anyone else, I actually feel that the character as portrayed is too smart to start an at work romance. She of all the characters is best at the separation of worklife from Lifelife.

Angel and Angelus ( Buffy and Angel) {TV Series}
Not sure I can honestly say who I prefer of the two sides of this..err...Monster? David Borenaz played each character with conviction. Though I do prefer Angel in his own series rather than in Buffy, either when being Angelus or Angel.That's probably my bias against Buffy and cherring for Willow rather than Angel's character himself. I love the evolution of the character, over the course of the series. Josh Whedon weaving a spell of an alternate world in which I was happy to dwell for a while. The character himself was so contradictory in nature that sometimes it was hard to understand why he would want to keeping being "alive", or maybe just lack of continuity on the part of the writers. The flashbacks to him as Liam would imply that, as a human, he was closer to being Angelus than to being Angel. But on third thoughts Angel as a Muppet is probably my favourite version.

Aeryn Sun (Farscape) {TV Series}
Starting with the fact that Claudia Black was brilliant and played her as such a kick arse/ass soldier who lost everything, whilst trying to do the right thing. This is a character with so much to identify with and even more that was incomprehensible, I never having been a soldier. In that way I find her character very similar to Zoe in Firefly. But it is possible that I just really liked her outfits both as straight Aeryn or one of the many times when she was a caricature in John Crichton's mad dreams.

She certainly made black leather look good in a way to which even Trinity would have to give a nod.

Dr Aki Ross ( Final Fantasy -- The Spirits Within){Animated Movie}
This is powerful heroine, not willing to give up on her belief in scientific fact when others more politically motivated had reason to sway her. Her animation had wonderful human minute signatures and for a fairly short film, rather than a series, a brilliant development of character. Once that was put together with really good motion capture and texture animation you lost yourself in her world and didn't think of it as an animated movie, or of her as an animated character. In much the same way Aeryn Sun looked great in black, Aki made greyish white really cool.

Anapuma ( Tank police) {Anime}
How can you go past a shapely woman with cats ears, a tail, a mane of hair and an unbelievably huge gun pulled from bikini space. Combine all that with an ability to drive anything and happily drive it anywhere and you have a character worth watching. Given that she has a sister, Unapuma, so that you get TWO shapely women, with cats ears, tails, manes of hair and unbelievably large guns you have an anime impossible to forget.

Otherr A's
Akira (Akira) mostly because I want his Bike
Apollo (BSG) {TV Series} Mosty as a foil for Starbuck or as Lee for Kara. I like him best since the lats episode of Season 3, when he grew a spine.
Anthony DiNozzo (NCIS){TV Series} As a fanifc character I love him, in the series I find hima useful plot device.
I could say Adric ( Docor Who) {TV Series} but I would be lying as I mostly found him to be a whiney brat boy
