Charlie didn’t read very well yet, but he knew the MLB logo in the corner of the envelope. He looked up at Don with big eyes.
“You said I couldn’t go.”
Don shrugged.
“You said it was for big kids.”
“Do you want to go or not?” Don snapped.
Charlie nodded, pulling the ticket to his chest.
“I do.”
Charlie grabbed Don around his middle and smacked a sticky, five-year old kiss on his cheek. Don pushed him off, but smiled as he wiped his face theatrically with the back of his hand.
“Do that again and you can’t go.”
