Lack of updates and inspiration
My fellow Spuffy fans,
I know that I haven't written in this journal for a long time. That isn't all that unusual. What is unusual is that I haven't had an update of any of my stories for a bit. I know that I did an update of everything a couple weeks ago, but I don't know when the next ones will come.
Why is that? Well for one thing I have been feeling like people have lost interest in my stories. They are hardly reviewed or even asked for in comparision to some other writers. I know that some of you might say it is because I wasn't updating as much. Even when I updated once a week, it didn't seem to matter.
I'm not saying this to try and get pity or anything. I'm just really feeling a lack of feeling and inspiration from the fans of my stories. Even people who used to review my stories all the time, do not review now. That leads me to believe that the interest is gone.
I thought that maybe my writing was starting to suck, but I've tried a little bit of writing for another series and character pairing with excellent results. So, I can't be all that bad of a writer.
Perhaps the interest in Spuffy waned? Nope, that isn't the case either because I still see a lot of interest in some of my fellow writer's pieces.
All of this leads me to believe that people just aren't interested in my ideas any more. I hate the thought of leaving WIP's out there. So, I will attempt to see if I can finish those stories, but I hvae no idea how long it will be between updates. If I didn't hate the idea of WIP's so much, I would just stop everything as it is.
If I find the inspiration to continue with Spuffy, I will gladly keep writing, but right now I feel that I have outlived my usefulness to Spuffy readers.
I will continue to update the web sites for those who I have agreed to do so, and I will read Spuffy fiction as I am able to. I will also still beta for Mary Perk if she wishes me too.
Maybe I'm wrong, and there is still an interest in my stories. Unless I really see that is the case in the next update or two, I'm afraid I will assume that my deductions are correct.
