Yup yup...got a friend who was raving about the wide range of cheap but genuine backpacks and outerwear (eg. north face, columbia) at the russian market!

hanoi! woo! i love hanoi! 19 days to hanoi! yee-ha! :) but you better check on whether it's the right season...a friend of mine went and it was hot and smoggy everyday.
