Wellington is amazing. It's like living in a big city without the crime, noise, or bad attitudes. Everyone is so easy-going, no one cares how you look (even though everyone looks like a model) and the weather is pretty gorgeous most of the time. A nice day is like 50 or 55. I live two blocks from the shopping/dining district, and about four from the Harbor. The map makes the city look big, but actually it's pretty compact.
I've already done a lot of cool stuff, like seen seals at the Pacific, hiked the Northern Pathway through the "bush", visited the museum, rode the Cable Car, went shopping, saw Parliment, etc etc. Oh yeah and I'm working. It's an okay job, and the people are really nice. And the view is incredible from the office. Next week I have to start actually doing interviews and writing articles, so good luck to me on that. If they ask me to drive, I don't know WHAT I'll do. It's very unnerving.
The only down side I can find to living here is how expensive everything is. Holy crap. But I'm dealing.
New words I've learned: Kapa Haka, Peki Peki, Nappy, roundabout, queue, and streaky bacon.
