Out of curiosity.

You don't have to tell me why, though you can if you like.

So. Favourite work of fiction?

Jane Eyre. It would be my "stuck on a desert island book."

I admit, I asked because I am reading Jasper Fforde's The Eyre Affair at the moment, and it started me thinking about books that have this intense, powerful hold on people.

Oh, I loved that book. I'm currently on the 4th in the series. My favorite so far is actually The Well of Lost Plots. It's full of the wacky, and pretty much impossible to explain the plot to a person without them thinking you're completely bonkers.

At one point in the book, Miss Havisham and Thursday have to go to an anger management session for the characters in Wuthering Heights. I haven't laughed so hard while reading a book in forever.

I am loving it so far, too. In fact, it's basically how I've spent the entirety of my lazy Sunday. :) Some of the names! Some of the names just make me howl with glee! When Jack Schitt appeared I nearly choked on my tea.

My poor little once-upon-a-time-English-honours-brain just can't get enough of the clever!
