Things going on in my neck of the woods...

1. Preparations (if you can call them that) for the move to NYC proceed agonizingly slowly.  Still, there's not really that much we can do at this point.  My main jobs constitute hounding Carl to get on top of the funding thing, and also to keep researching just exactly what type of visa I need.  Carl doesn't need one at all, lucky bastard, but because he doesn't need one and I do, and I'll be going to the States via him---complicated.  Blech.  If anyone knows anyone that wants to rent out a place in Manhattan for about $1500 starting in Sept? You just let me know, yeah?

2. I'm finished the last (hopefully final) draft of Nocturne.  I love the story SO much more now, and am pleased with the way it's turned out.  So very very very very much is changed from those earlier drafts I thought were finished.  I think probably people could edit into eternity, if they were perfectionists *cough cough* and so... I am trying to cut myself off.  Editing has become a drug I take instead of actually writing or actually sending this puppy out into the world.  Must write query letter.  Must research agents.  Must not freak out.

3. There is an Event on the horizon.  The Event may or may not be related to number 1.  The Event will not be named until The Event is Official, and yet, let's just say Tara is doing a great deal of Planning for The Event, because Events like this Event do not get planned overnight.  The Event will probably take place in August, before the move.  Tara is excited about The Event, and yet, The Event is still so surreal she apparently talks about it in the third person.

4. HOCKEY!! HOCKEY!!! HOCKEY!!!  FOUR OVERTIMES.  I almost lost my hair from stress, and it was ONLY GAME ONE.  HOCKEY!!!

5. Yoga: I have been doing either hot or anusara yoga 2-3 times per week and I feel AWESOME.

6. My mom is taking me on a mother-daughter trip to Hawaii the first week of June!! YAY!!  However, this plus The Event, plus 10-yr Reunion means Tara needs to tone, and quick!!! :)

7. Latest addition to book list: #24 Falling Angels by Barbara Gowdy.

Things are good with me.  You?

Oh yeah, Facebook has eaten my brain.  That place is addictive, but cool.  I've reconnected with a bunch of old folks from my life, and that's pretty gosh-darn neat.

HOCKEY!!!
