Stabbed in the back/Fired by the LT

I got a call this evening asking me to step down as a senior ref. I asked what would happen if I refused and was told that it wasn't actually a request. I was told I could stay on in a lesser position.

The reasons that were given were that I have upset some people in other departments and there has been some issues with my reffing. As for the reffing side meh, whatever, I can spin any situation to make me look good or bad so I don't care about that as 'evidence'. As for the people, I don't know who, but if you didn't want my opinion on something then you ought not have asked for it in the first place, I don't play childish games where people desperately validate each other and the bad jobs that they are doing. I tell people what I think even if they aren't going to like it. This is not a new trait, it's been a feature since day one of my being on staff doing set up all those years ago.

I am saddened by the fact that I trusted someone who I thought was a mate but apparantly, after I quit earlier this year and he convinced me to stay, was only interested in me seeing out the year. Now that the season is over then I appear to have outlived my use and will be replaced probably by someone that will toe the party line and not ask questions or try to improve things by challenging them. I am saddened by this but I know that its just another symptom of the sickness that is rife in the LT. The LT.... like heroine.

Destroying you but you just keep going back to it.

Well guess my dealer just died! :-)
