At the end of the day

At the end of the day, we only really have to answer to ourselves. It's more an awareness of a curse than it is a liberating notion. You can dodge the outside observers and critics all you want, but there's never even a glimmer of nothingness in even the greatest seclusion. Maybe this is where the urge to meditate should kick in. For most, it's where the urge to self-medicate kicks in, instead. Quieting that inner-voice becomes critical when you've neither the patience nor the know-how to change what it's saying. I think for now that I'll just try to drown it out with other noise.
