A few weeks ago Hunter and I were at Bracket Park aka the Rocket Ship Park. It has an immense spider web structure that they replace the "rocket" of my childhood with. Hunter has gotten quite good at climbing around like a monkey on this jungle gym, so when when a little girl got herself stuck at the top I sent him up to help her down.
TQ: Hunter. Climb up there and help that little girl.
H: How?
TQ: Show her how to climb down and give her some moral support.
H: Whats that?
TQ: Be encouraging. Say nice things to make her feel more confident so she'll be brave and come down.
So up he scrambled. He talked to her for a while. There was a lot of gesturing on his part. Finally he shouts down to me.
H: I don't know how to help her down.
TQ: Well. Just try to be supportive, ok?.
H: OK! (he turns to the little girl and says in his most encouraging tone) I'm sure you are really good at lots of things other than climbing!
TQ: *face palm*
