And then stuff happened. Also, things.

It's looking less and less likely that I'll actually write up Thursday, Friday and Sunday at SDCC, isn't it? Well, in the event those recaps never get posted, I'd like to give a massive shout out to pintsizeninja, kijikun and roomies crimsonquills, maiea and webbgirl for making the whole SDCC experience totally awesome.

Even if you guys will never know what that experience was. (Hint: There were wookies.)

To say it's been busy the last couple of weeks would be, well, something of an understatement. Which is also, in itself, an understatement.

We last left our heroine wracked with illness. Thankfully, the cold passed before turning ugly, but not, apparently, before I generously passed it along to the rest of my family. You're welcome, by the way.

barometric, brave and foolish and in town, invited me to visit with her on a small island for a few days. We weren't murdered by serial killers (Old Ones, yes, but serial killers, no) but we did, however, see many dolphins, watch the first episode of Sherlock and pet many, many dogs. I also read my first (fiction, anyway) book of the year and proceeded to bitch about it to anyone who would listen for days afterward. Good times.

After the long weekend, I returned to Vancouver, healthier and kind of sunburned, and the house that, surprise, I was to house-sit for the next few weeks. Notably, the house included a dog, which meant considerably more strategy was required to tend to the house than might have otherwise been the case. Example: Shoes should be kept on the couch, not the floor where they will be devoured. The first days of my stay were pleasant, if somewhat exhausting.

Shortly thereafter, I was joined in the house by hannahrorlove, who was visiting Vancouver for the first time. webbgirl was also in town, so I took a couple of days off work and we had many and varied adventures.

I should also probably mention that this next stretch look place during a massive (by Vancouver's standards, anyway) heat wave. Also, that by "many and varied adventures" I mean that hannahrorlove and webbgirl did things while I sat quietly in a corner, trying to not fall asleep. They did, at least, get me as far as Victoria, where I purchased the Dunwich expansion to Arkham Horror because I'm ridiculous. On the ferry there, we were mooned by a fisherman.

At any rate, I determined that hannahrorlove was an excellent cook and was introduced to odditycollector (*wave*). Also, there was Arrested Development and World of Warcraft and, um, other stuff happened. Oh god, why is this post so long?

What I'm trying to say is, hi! If you find me collapsed on the sidewalk a la Sims 2, you now know why.

games: arkham horror, tv: arrested development, the dreaded sick, state of the me address, it's convention time!
