DVD-style commentary on "Endsong, End of Line (Sights of the Hybrid Sun Remix)" and talking about the remixing process. Because fandom is shiny, and I like explaining myself.
Wow, that is AWESOME! As I told you before, I caught many of the parallels but wasn't sure how much of it was intentional. I tracked most of the song lyric parallels, and I was so focused on those I didn't pick up on the explicit X-Men parallels the first time around.
I like the idea that this is a remix of my story AND of the songs AND of the X-Men history. Really cool concept.
It's also interesting to see the 'character parallel' meme applied to something I wrote -- considering I do it all the time for other people's characters (and of course it's not like I own Kara and Sam either). I've compared Kara to both Logan and Scott a bunch, but I'd never thought of her as Jean, nor Sam as Scott except in the general 'dark haired flyboys own my heart' kind of way (and Sam in my fic explicitly rejects being a flyboy, though he ended up becoming one on the show). It definitely, completely works the way you wrote it -- I really enjoy the details that make Sam more 'Scott-like,' particularly the one about him folding his clothes. It's just not something that would have crossed my mind. That's what's so cool about remix, seeing how so many things can work together when seen through different eyes. Thanks again!
