ZOMG. Daredevil and Elektra fans!

Jul 15, 2009 02:43

So, wiccabuffy just told me about a deleted scene from Elektra where she talks to Matt. I couldn't find it on YouTube, but I DID find the most adorakable, awesomest, cutest and best DD-fandom thing in the world EVER Daredevil/Elektra fanfilm.

Go rightnow and check it out! You won't be sorry. It's right here: Elektra (The Hand and the Devil).

recs, daredevil, elektra, zomg

And you should look at this totally dorky commercial for a comic shop. http://www.manwithoutfear.com/daredevil.shtml

Ugh, that was everything I couldn't stand about the Manwithoutfear boards right there in one thread. I made it through page 2 before hitting the back button

Why why why are so many male comics fans such assholes?

There are some on that thread that post there just to berate anyone who might show up new on the board. "James Castle" is one of the worst. He and I have crossed horns there before, and I'm not the only female he's tried to run off from that forum. I got hold of another one in the chat room one day, and told him what a dillweed I thought he was to his "face" (in real time in the chat room) and he's never crossed me again. I think I scared him, calling him on his bullshit.

Personally, I think it's just a lot of dickwaving on the part of the fanboys.

Yes, I remember "James Castle." I posted that I had enjoyed the movie, and he ripped me a new one. *eyeroll* That's why I totally prefer LJ fandom--you can (gasp) be a fan of the movieverse without slavishly adhering to canon. I'm glad you told him off!

IMO, fanboys are dicks, for the most part. And fangirls with fanboy mentality, for that matter. I've been "schooled" on my DD fanfics not strictly adhering to canon, and it drives me up the fucking wall. Marvel has specifically created characters that remain true to themselves no matter what the universe (1602, Ultimates, 616, various AUs, movieverses), and I see comics!fic as a chance to change the details and backstory, keeping the characters in-character, without needing to refer to the events of XYZ specific issue.

...Yes, I'm very touchy about this. ;)

There's room for everybody in fanfiction, and I like that, a lot. We get to take our fave characters out of the box and play with them.

Sort of like what I'm doing now, painting my own custom Daredevil Mighty Muggs. There just aren't enough toys out there to suit me! The blind guy gets no respect. *pouts*
