Bampf.
So a quick update. I was chatting with Andy earlier and
realised that I’ve not actually read or bought any comics for more than 4 weeks
now (aside from the Spider-man graphic) - and haven’t even noticed. I’ve been
so busy with getting artwork done that I’ve actually kind of fallen out from
reading the buggers lol.
Anyhow, it’s official: I’m off to the Leeds Comic-con with
Andy and Grant - and I’ve got my portfolio review with CB Cebluski of Marvel
booked! Looks like it’s going to be a good con, there’s a killer guest list and
everyone pre-ordering tickets gets entrance to the VIP party on Saturday night!
The next two weekends are shaping up the be awesome: Charlene’s Grad Ball next
weekend, then Leeds Con and Death Cab For Cutie the weekend after!
I learned an interesting lesson last night inking - Fine crosshatch
work on backgrounds. If in doubt - use a straight edge and PATIENCE. I started
tearing into a background freehand and was f**king up left right and centre.
After a mental telling off and taking 5 to review it, I went back in with the
straight edge and tidied all up (which I should have done to begin with). Gonna
try using sponge tonight I think to get a texture I need, never done it before
but could be quite cool!
