i really like the sound of string instruments

so yesterday was my brother's high school graduation. i woke up 2 hours late and got a speeding ticket on the way there. the best part about it is that i actually was going a decent speed 98% of the way because i was perfectly aware that being memorial weekend there would be cops everywhere. but they just happened to clock me when i was passing someone who was going well below the speed limit. i'm also not crazy about passing people. this was the only attempt at passing that imade on this particular drive and it took me about 5 minutes of trying before i found just the right moment when it felt it was sufficiently safe to go for it. so there goes $87 that i don't have. friday and pay day can't come soon enough. the actual graduation was really crowded so i ended up having to sit by myself because the rest of the family could find a spot with enough room for them and me. then we went to buckheads where i had the worst meal of my life. but i didn't pay for it so i guess it's ok. then i saw taj and jessina and we had coffee and it was great.

in other news... amanda just informed me that andrew bird is going to be in bloomington next saturday. what is especially exciting about that is that i don't have to work... just by chance. even more amazing considering that i'm pretty sure i've worked every saturday since i started there. AND erin is off that day by chance as well, so i'll have someone to go with that enjoys him as much as i do. his live show is especially neat because he doesn't have a band, he builds each song by playing a part and then sampling it and repeating and playing other things over it, etc. here's a link to a song if you're curious.
