Holy shit, people get absolutely nuts when it comes to gasoline.
I decided once gas pushed its way back up over $2/gallon that I would squeak every last drop out of the tank I had in hopes that the prices would fall again before it became absolutely, completely, I-have-no-other-choice necessary to fill up. Well, my grandma just sorta randomly (at least I think) asked me today if I needed gas and if I'd like to use her Kroger Plus card to get 10 cents off per gallon, which apparently the Kroger Plus card gets you. What was I going to say, no? Of course I obliged, said thank you, and made my way out to the new Kroger on Glenway.
Oh. My. God.
Unleaded was $1.80/gallon. So just to do a little first grade math (thanks Jill!!!), I was able to put like 16 gallons in my Jeep for roughly $25 at $1.70/gallon. There must have been 85 people trying to get to 10 pumps. They had employees from the actual grocery store out directing traffic. Pure lunacy at its finest. Just another reason why no one in this region will ever catch Kroger in the grocery market.
Moving along, congratulations to all you college and even high school graduates that will be breaking through your respective barriers here soon. I truly and honestly apologize to anyone I might miss here, but I'm going to attempt to run through and recognize all you college graduates -- congratulations to Julie, Jason, Craig, Jay, Amanda, Nicki, Kelly, Leah, and Karen. I'm sure there is going to be plenty of parties and such for us to celebrate. Speaking of parties, there are a couple that started as whispers and have turned into small ripples in the water. Julie is talking about one on Friday, June 17 and Keith is talking of one that following day, Saturday, June 18. I think they're both looking for some sort of a cookout-type thing. So I'm sure details will be coming on that.
That's gonna be it for now. Maybe I'll drop back in here in a little while since I'm at work and probably will be for another 2+ hours. Adios.
