At work again...

I made two more checking account transactions today. The first was at Speedway to fill up the Tarp7-Machine. I thought for a moment I was getting a deal at $1.99/gallon considering every other gas station this side of Texas has suddenly raised its prices back up to $2.19 or $2.20/gallon. But then like an hour later I started noticing prices being $1.97 or $1.94. Shit, I'm getting off topic. Where was I??? Oh yeah, my checking account. As I stated yesterday, my checking account balance is continually fucked up. After the second transaction I made today, a simple $20 withdrawal at an ATM, I promptly checked my balance. Yeah, National City definitely has me with $130.99 more than what I show. Interesting, eh?

I traveled back out to Northgate today to return the pair of pants I purchased yesterday because I was stupid enough to think they'd fit without trying them on. Anyway, it was pointed out to me differently after I tried them on at Julie's. The second journey wasn't that fun. Not only did they not have the SIZE I was looking for, they didn't even have any with the size WAIST I was in need of. I did try a pair on in the fitting rooms with the broken door handles and ended up just going with a pair that are two inches larger in the waist than I usually wear. That's what belts are for, right? Now let me ask you this. When you return an item, especially purchased on a previous date, and then buy a new item...don't you usually get a new receipt? I mean, don't they ring the old item back into the computer and ring up the new one??? This old lady working at the Customer Service desk at JC Penney just took the pair of pants I had, put my new ones in the bag, and had me keep the same receipt. What??? I know they're the same brand and style of pants and all, but don't they ring up differently and leave different shit on the receipt??? I mean, I know I dont really know how this stuff works but I don't think I can recall ever having done this same thing before and had them not ring the previously purchased item back up. Wow, run-on sentence. Oh well.

God dammit, last night's storm knocked out our satellite down here. Now we can't watch the Reds lose. This is why you don't subscribe to satellite but rather to something more reliable -- such as digital cable. Hey I was told that this weekend would've been Jammin' On Main. Is this true??? Did I miss the announcement somewhere that they weren't doing it this year??? If it really was going on I would be listening to whoever might be playing outside right now. And then I could just walk right out the door and over to a stage. That'd be cool.

Speaking of concerts, is anyone else getting stir crazy having not attended one in so long??? I don't even know what the last one I went to was. I think it was the Metallica/Godsmack show just over a year ago. That has to be the longest I've gone without seeing a show in the longest time. I got intrigued today to find out Mudvayne has been added to OzzFest. Hmm. Tuesday, August 3, in Columbus?? Wait, that's on a Tuesday. Jason, Julie, and myself all have a work meeting on Tuesdays. Shit. God dammit, this sucks. I almost want to just go to The Blue Note after work tonight just to listen to Denial. It was even pretty cool last Friday up at J's listening to these 60-year-old guys waling on the guitar like they were 19 or 20. Live rock music is so great.

There is absolutely nothing going on here. The phone has rang a collective 5 times I think in the 2.5 hours I've been here. And we've taken 3 scores. I haven't personally done a damn thing except enter one set of horse racing entries. I have some homework stuff laying next to the computer that is not going to get itself done and something tells me I'm not going to do it either. At least I'm not going to do it here. Now I know since I've said that, the phone is going to go absolutely fucking crazy. It's now 8:30, so that means the guy to my right is going to be grabbing his shit and leaving in exactly one half hour because Heaven forbid he stay past 9:00. That will leave just two of us. Last night people were calling in tennis results at fucking 10:30. Why would you wait till 10:30 in the evening to call in the results of a fucking tennis match??? Just call the shit in immediately after you're done playing so those (aka, myself) can write the shit up and get on with whatever else we may be doing. There is such a thing as a deadline in the newspaper business. When you get what you think is everything all laid out and then all of a sudden two or three more scores come in, it's a little difficult to rearrange and fit shit in.

Yep, I'm done with my ranting. Sorry, just got on a roll there for a moment. Anyway, I'm gonna find something else (other than this homework of course) to fill my boredom. Talk at everyone later...
